Re; Presidents Breakfast Run this Sat morning, I understand some people don't know of it's where abouts. So to assist on a prompt start. The paper version is
O/S map 182, Weston-super-Mare & Bridgwater Area. ST 395. 567. Obtained for just a few pounds from a good stationersor for those with Navagational devises (Sat Nav's) costing many pounds, the Post Code; BS25 1DY should find it. If you approach Barton (14 houses including farms) from Winscombe, it's the second lane left, up the hill by the side of an old cottage. Miss it and you will end up going onto The Webbington. Paul has mapped a route for the run but unforunately I have no 'Sat Nav' references for it!Sorry.
Prom Races, just to add to Rob's message, to those members deciding to help as a team, I can give assurances I'll be around to ensure a smooth take over, and assist whenever needed(if you want me that is). Because I appreciate it's a different 'kettle of fish' to when I started, with just 25 finishers on the first race. For those in the Team wanting to have a go, you can have a taster this coming March, when Jan & I are away in New Zealand. So please contact me direct 01934 414 361 or email.

If anyone that is marshalling at this weekend's Christmas cracker that has a video camcorder that will support Mini-DV tapes and are willing to bring it down with them, then I am looking for a few additional cameras and operators. If you have one and please feel free to bring it along and do a bit or recording along with your other duties. I have a spare tri-pod that can be used if you don't have a steady hand.
Thanks for the map, directions, postcode and grid ref, but if I don't arrive, please send out a search party!!!

PROM RACEAfter such a fabulous response to my last message (no one) we feel the prom run could possibly be run by a group of people and not just one individual. Clearly the more people we have to rely on the less people will have to undertakeâ¦. So if you feel you would like to give something back to the club and put your name forward then please let me know by e-mail. Very little will happen until next seasons series but we need to plan ahead if we are to keep this race going. I look forward to being inundated!
DISCOUNTS:I've got 10% off from both Easy Runner (Bristol) and Sweatshop (Westbury Upon Trym)in the recent past. ;o)
SPECIALIST SPORTS PHYSIO:Please can anyone recommend a specialist physio/podiatrist. I'm looking for someone who does gate analysis etc. and can recommend preventative, strengthening exercises rather than the usual post injury remedial stuff.
Thanks everyone for discount info.Claudine: Sorry to hear what you've been going through. Glad to hear that things are looking up and hope to see you back soon.
Prom Race.Further to my earlier message (please see below) can I just say how encouraging it is to have had people put their names forward already. So, if you are thinking of doing so yourself you can now know that you wonâ™t be alone and hopefully will be part of the team that will help save the Prom Race. A big thanks to those who have already put their names forward and I look forward to hearing from more of you.
Are you sure this isn't a trick Rob? Are you trying to con people into putting their names forward, when actually you haven't got any volunteers as yet?!?

ClaudineWe are both pleased to hear that you are feeling a little better. We didnt know that you could get Vodka injections on the NHS, sounds like a good idea, especially if it is doing the trick! You missed a really good run this morning to the top of Crook Peak. Gerry was the first to the top!
Hey Dino,So good to hear you're feeling better, been missing the belly laughs!Girls,Evening at Pam's on 14th Dec, you should all know what it's about by now, just don't want to broadcast it to the boys, they might think it's Christmas!!!If you're coming, can you bring a dish of food with you, saves Pam having to do it all. Also, can you let me know whether you'll be there or not.ThanksOops nearly forgot, well done Sue, made the Webby sign and back easy 9.2 whey!!
Ginnie, ref girls night, do you require officer and a gentleman outfit or the usual, let me know, always there to please, see you all soon Ivor.

That's my silhouette towards the end of the Cheddar half footage - I'd recognise that chin anywhere!
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to my fellow club-mates for the flowers, card and kind comments (even from Victor!!) for a speedy recovery.Ive now got my diagnosis and following a number of injections over the next week I should be fighting fit (well almost - just that small issue of actually building back up some kind of fitness would be a start!)Anyway, Kev's Prom Team - be warned - I may have to make an appearance at the December Prom Race (and shouldn't need an iron lung or motorised vehicle to get me round!) PS: I'm just hoping they haven't introduced drug testing for the Prom!?See you all soon. Claudes xx
Friday 30 November 2007
Yes PB or not we still need PB!!!
or even with no feet at all!!
Some footage of the Cheddar Half on
www.mendiptv.co.uk - a few weston vests but I did'nt spot Victor :(
Thursday 29 November 2007

Phil - yes, congratulations on Pembrokeshire and please come and do the proms. PB or no PB, your team needs you!!
Thanks but I'd rather chop my feet off. Will think about it....
Wednesday 28 November 2007
As most of you know Dave Jones is stepping down from his role as race director for the prom races at the end of this season. Without anyone coming forward to take the series over the club is in danger of loosing a very high profile and popular race. If anyone is interested in discussing what is involved then please contact myself or Daveâ¦.. it may no be as bad as you think!!!
Tuesday 27 November 2007
Along with many others I lament the departure of our esteemed Webmaster. The end of an era?
Monday 26 November 2007
Web Master,Not a member but use your website to find results of races etc.To say thankyou for getting them up so quick ( Brent Knoll ).Also sorry for the photo captions.
Just to let everyone know that sadly Shaun has decided that, due to other commitments, he is no longer able to continue as our webmaster. Firstly Iâ™m sure we would all like to thank him for developing the site into what it is today and all of his hard work over the last few years.Secondly we will be looking for a replacement and if anyone is interested then please let me know.
Really well done to Phil Bird on Saturday - 1st lady on Pembrokeshire Coastal Marathon - faster than a lot of us can do a flat road marathon too! Also, there's a series of these coastal runs through to April 08, and we would recommend them to anyone. They find some beautiful bits of coastline. There is also the option of a marathon, half-marathon and 10k on every one. Would be nice to see some more WAC faces there!
Really sorry to hear Shaun is no longer going to be webmaster. Sean does a fantastic job and I don't think any of us really understand the time and effort involved in keeping the website up to date and finding results so quick. Our website is used by many clubs looking for the calendar of events and results. I've even come accross a club site that tells people to look on our website!
We have a fantastic website and as has already been said is recognised as such by many within the running community. Shaun has done an excellent job and my only concern apart from finding someone else to take it on is â¦â¦..does this mean he will be training more and running even faster??? Oh no!Just when Neale and myself were begining to get into the top 3 WAC runners at the prom runs!I am sure the webmasters job is very time consuming and you need to be a techno thingy to work it, so that rules me out as I cant even spell names properly.Well done Shaun and thanks for a fantastic website,
I would also like to say what a fantastic job Shaun has done. This is really a super website with runners from many clubs using it. The speed at which results go up as always impressed me.Well done Shaun (If you could slow down a bit more I would be very gratefully - say 5 minutes at the next prom)
Sunday 25 November 2007
Malcolm, Can you make my long sleeved top XL around the waist but xs in length. Much obliged to you.
Rich,Confirmation that your order for 1 Long Sleeved Top Size LFB has been ordered for you.
Saturday 24 November 2007
A fantastic well done to all those who turned up for last night's stuffing party (& for those who don't know, it's not as exciting as it sounds!!). Getting out the Cracker literature is always something of a challenge, but you managed it last night in record time! I don't intend to comment on the relative merits of the 2 teams!!Once again, thanks very much.
Tuesday 20 November 2007
Kira,I'll definitely be there, but don't think Sue will make it back in time.
Monday 19 November 2007
Malcolm, is there any chance you could get the 'try on' l.s. tops along to the beach (or Hutton Moor) on a Tuesday too? (e.g. tomorrow). Thanks, Phil
Ralph, great photos of Cheddar. Many thanks, Phil (that's another PB) Mellor!
Hi Gaby,WRN will not be running tonight due to the carnival
Thank you for the info :)
Ginnie & Sue hoping you both can still make it this wed for the last wed night beginners gp - we are meeting outside the winter gdns 7pm for the mile run.
Sunday 18 November 2007
FTAO Malcolm & The Monday Night Crew!Is the normal run from Hutton Moor on tomorrow night in view of the carnival?cheersChris
Ginnie,4 miles exactly to the Garage. Hope you both made it!
Hi Chris and all Monday nighters.Yes we run the same route as normal but usually end up running along the beach to avoid the prom crowds. Hopefully I shall see you all at the sports centre at 7.00 p.m.Malcolm
Thanks Malcolm.I am hoping to be there tomorrow night providing I can have a night off the baby duties!!
Important Message for all WAC Club MembersI am pleased to announce that the club is about to provide a quality long sleeved Weston A/C Winter Training Top to all current 2007 Club Members. As we are making this a one off purchase it is important that we get the sizing right as we have to order the correct amount of tops and sizes. You therefore have two options;-1. Let us know what size you want and thatâ™s the size you will get. (It may be difficult or impossible to then exchange for a different size).2. Come along to one of the Thursday Night Training Sessions over the coming weeks where a sample of the shirt and sizes will be available for you to try on. If you choose option 1 then please E Mail or phone myself or Dave with your size.Any questions please phone or speak to me at training.Malcolm
Attention all girls:Am arranging a girls night (not Tupperware!!) at Pams place (with her permission!) on 14 December, please email me to let me know if want to come, will then email you privately, (don't want the boys to know what we're going to be doing!!!)Gerrie,Thanks for the time, Sue and I made it there and back with ease!
Hi, see WAC still doing Monday night run with the Carnival on... does anyone know if Women Running Network are still meeting tomorrow too please? Thanks :)

Some interesting photo of Sodbury Slog.www.evokepix.co.ukRace No 269 & 270...
Those Sodbury pictures are great.Annette....well what can I say....classic!
Despite seriously debillitating dose of manflu brought on by extreme cold and hard effort of last nights prom i and hardy chums will be running from the Swan , Rowberrow 8.30 this sunday. All welcome even chairman Bob and fellow lightweight shandy drinkers...
Thursday 15 November 2007
Very good Victorâ¦.but Iâ™m not even going to rise to the bait. Just remember I hold one of your darkest and best kept running secrets which I was planning to take to my grave (not long if the bird flu gets me) but if these below the belt jibes keep coming I may have to speak outâ¦.
Sounds intriguing Mr Morgan. How many pints would it take to disclose this dark secret? Does Victor have a special tattoo or maybe a funny piercing? Such secrets need exposing!
To the Saturday Cycling crew. Is this kind of activity common in cycling circles? Check out the link below:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/7095134.stm
That's just WRONG!!!
He's also been awarded the Polka Dot jersey as given to King of the Mountings ! I'll get my coat !
Just brilliant - The office howled with laughter after reading that.
Wednesday 14 November 2007
Good to see al the Weston A/C Members getting prepared for this weekâ™s prom race. Forecast is overcast but very low wind speed so I guess this means excellent prom race weather and PB conditions. On an important note can I remind all Weston Club Members to wear their Club Vest when racing. I know the training T shirts are popular but they are for training. If you need extra protection from the cold simply wear the vest over the top of the T shirt or a long sleeved shirt. If you are waiting for a club vest I shall have plenty available on the night.See you all there.Malcolm
Malcolm, please can I pick up a vest from you on Thursday. I guess I'll need a medium or a large depending on the fit. Thanks, Phil
Funny you should say that Malcolm! not only do I have the worst man or possibly bird flu every but ive also got my daughters graduation to attend tomorrow evening so sorry team mates I have to sit this one out... im sure you will all do well and make me proud.
A complete lack of dedication from the Chairman!!(PS: Ladies B team: I doubt I'll be there!! Do us proud. If needs be just trip up Kev & his team-mates!!)
Why Oh Why is chairman Bob in the A team , he is never ever going to race on a thursday night. Not with Location, location, location and Graham Norton on telly... He doesn't know what manflu is, have a lemsip and set the video lightweight.
Tuesday 13 November 2007
TeresaI think the Ladies A Team are too busy training, rather than partaking in posting messages on the website - they're just too dedicated!
MENDIP MUDDLE 2007==================Dear All,Just a note to let you know that Weston AC have made a donation of Â900 to the Wrington Vale RNLI from the proceeds of this year's Muddle. Dennis Sleigh from the RNLI has extended his thanks to all WAC memebers, friends and family, who helped with the event which he considered to have been a big success. Well done everyone.
That's right Claudine, far too busy training to even start a prom race!
Bryan,All the credit is yours mate ( and your better half for putting up the disruption at home). You dedicated a lot of personal time and effort in pulling together what was a fantastic day.Well done. The Cowell Clan
Monday 12 November 2007
I know Kevin calls me lightweight Wiggins and I did wear gloves yesterday on my run but I really take offensive at being called a woosie!!!!!
...... and you run bare-legged!!!
Good to hear lots of positive team chat from Ladies B about their Prom intentions. What about us, Ladies A? For my part, unfortunately I can't make it to the club for training these days but I plan to do most if not all prom races. What about everyone else? Hope to see you there this Thurs!
Sunday 11 November 2007
Would anyone like my number from yesterday's Cheddar half? Felt ill for last few days but decided to run anyway - big mistake, especially as there was no short cut back to the beginning so I ended up carrying on anyway. Hope to be better for the prom on Thursday!
Well done Gerry, still a very respectable time for some one stopping to throw up along the way!Message for Ginnie.3.83 ,miles to the church. Hope you enjoyed your run this morning see you on the Prom.
F.A.O. Lesley Lightweight and the rest of the Ladies Prom B TeamI told you we should resign ourselves to that wooden spoon for the current prom series. Sounds like you won't be in PB form (if you're running at all) on Thursday, and given the absolutely pathetic run I had this morning I'd be lucky to do sub 1 hour!I only went from home down to the sea front & back (no hills!) and it felt like wading through treacle. Legs now knackered after that whopping 5 mile run (in 50 minutes??!!!!!!). Time to trade in the trainers for the sofa me thinks!!
Come on Ladies Team B, where's your fight gone? wooden spoon or no wooden spoon we can still make a stir!!
Claudine and the rest of the Ladies B, I'll definitley be there on thurs even if it takes me an hour. I'm hitting the oranges and veggies. If it is going to be completely embarrasing I may resort to fancy dress! I'll bring the do-nuts to distracdt Kevin's team!
Must be ill-can't even spell my own name!
Forget all the illness- Malcolm what a storming run- Well done!!
Lelsey - I have a feeling that's going to stick!!! I think you need to go and have a lie down & leave Dave to look after the kids. PS: I have a feeling the do-nuts will be enough to distract Kevin, but what about the rest of his team?
Ginnie & Pete JonesI found a pair of blue running gloves at the bottom of Bleadon hill on the way back today. Do they belong to either of you ?
Jim,Gloves aren't mine (only woosies wear them this time of year!!)Gerrie,Thanks for the milage, yeah had a good one down to the metal railings at the end of the path, had to walk most of the way back up though!Ho hum, at least we didn't have the cows! See you in the week, if I'm not busy doing other things!! ;-))
Sorry Jim, forgot to say thanks anyway.
Saturday 10 November 2007
Dropping like flies! Short Notice, but I've come down with bad Man flu overnight and therefore have a number avaiable for todays Cheddar HM. Plaese ring me on 01934 514856 asap if you want to have it so I can arrange delivery of the number
Swarms of flies more like! Ankle injury means I have a Sodbury Slog number going begging. Give me a tinkle on 07867 821915 if you want it.
The 'Beauties' were randomers I paid to be my mates for the day Victor. Sorry - should have asked Weston AC members first!Anyone running from the Swan tomorrow?
After my efforts of today i won't be at swan tomorrow , so i imagine there will be a big group running. Hope to be back up on mendips next week. Keep up the good work Beast and you might be ready to finish a prom race...
Just thought id let all u Walnut sundayers know i wont be making it Due 2 bad foot syndrome. Hopefully this will b better by the prom. Cheers. Tris
Woke up and felt dreadful, big decision, should I run hould Cheddar or not. At 1.15pm decided not to run, esp after trapping my finger in the toilet door and realising I hadn't shaved my legs!!! Had I run I would probably have taken longer than 2:35... sorry, it wasn't me...don't know who that was.
Friday 09 November 2007
Pete, Won't be running on Mendips this Sunday - Should be back on Sun. 18th, hopefully with Victor and Co.
'Hopefully WITH VICTOR' Now thats something you don't read, hear or say very often!!
Now there's another thing you don't see very often - Simon with a number to give away, as opposed to him trying to beg, steal or borrow one!!
RE: Dirty Double Adventure race - Congratulations to Phil B who was a member of the winning mixed team ! Team name was 'Beauties and the Beast' I wonder which one she was ?
knee still malfunctioning, so got a sodbury slog number to give away, if anyone is interested.
PB = Phil Beast
Fran,If you still have the Slog entry I will gladly take it. I am going to the race anyway and whilst my back is still not perfect I may as well use the opportunity to take part in the race.07807 381820I can collect on Saturday afternoon if you are about.
If P B is the beast who is the beauty ?Possibly chairman Bob but cant imagine him running for 2 hours. Could it be the firestarter , i am puzzled.
Thursday 08 November 2007
Cheddar Entry - if anyone has an unwanted ticket for this Saturday's half at Cheddar, please contact me. Thanks, Phil
Just to say I have a spare number for Cheddar Half this Saturday. Knowing how tough these are to get hold of, I hope someone will be able to put it to good use. First come, first served basis - please contact me before last post Friday, so we can trust Royal Mail to get it to you b4 Saturday's 1.30pm kick-off!?cheersSimon
Tuesday 06 November 2007
FLM cheque cashed on 30th ... oh dearie, dearie me. What have I done?!?
Sunday 04 November 2007
does anyone know what the route will be this thursday?
does anyone know what the route will be this thursday?
why did i post that twice???
Hi Jo,You never, ever, ever, know what the route is in advance, it's one of the best kept secret's in the club (not that that's anything to go by!!)
Thanks to Liz for organising Friday night's soiree, fantastic subjects discussed, not crochet, (but we won't tell the boys!)A darn (oops sorry, more sewing...) good night out, looking forward to the AS party!!!
Saturday 03 November 2007
Just like to say thanks to Dave for organising last nites shindig, excellent night thanks for the stripogram. On a more serious note can we please stop these ladies nights out.On my return last nite in the early hours i found Geraldine in crochet negligee obviously worst for wear and she was spouting nonsense about a lady called Anne Somers who is having a party and bringing her rabbit with her .Eventually she fell into a drunken stupor and i was able to get some rest.Enjoy the mendips Rich should be laugh a minute especially if goofy one is going.
Friday 02 November 2007

The only prize is a cracking night out...hope you don't drop too many stitches girls.
Knit one, pull one, knit one, pull one. Oops ... should it be knit one, purl one!!! I've been practising the pulling.
I need to contact Clare (hope that's the correct spelling) Baxter about tonight.Does anyone have her phone number.
Hi Weston AC. I didn't realise there was such interest in knitcraft in the running community! I would like to welcome you all to my website, the 'Knitting and Crochet Guild'. Here you can meet, talk or email fellow members from the guild and learn about new knitcraft techniques. We are also able to get discounts on fabulous yarns and fabrics. Also, don't forget about our calendar detailing fabulous events taking place all over the country. Lesley - I like that plan!!!Victor - your talent, popularity & a sunny disposition .... yeah rrrriiiggghhht!!!!
Check you bank accounts, successfull FLM cheques went through 30th October!
Oh dear! I was looking forward to my free FLM jacket for bequeathing the entry fee to cchhhaarriitttyy!
Oh my god - cheque cashed but cannot remember whether I bequeathed or not? I suppose I will have to wait to see in December.
Cheddar RC is a bit short of help in marshalling for their half marathon on 10 Nov. If you are not running and can help, could you please let me know or contact Gill Constable (who runs our Cracker creche so deserves our help). Her email is g.constable@ntlworld.comThe race is on the Saturday afternoon from Kings of Wessex school.
Dave - fingers crossed!! (Hope you didn't bequeth your chq!)
ginniei will be there next thursday for a group 4 run. taking a well earned rest this week after my first half!!jo
Wednesday 31 October 2007
Aaaaggghhhh!!! How did I end up on a Prom team at all?!?! Gerry (& the rest of the Ladies B Team); I think we should just resign ourselves to retaining the wooden spoon!
I think there must have been some mistake....
Most definitely!!!!
I mean me not you!!
Ooh - look at you go Mr Morgan in the A Team!! PS: How did Victor get to be captain?
I was baffled by Chairman Bobs inclusion in elite squad seeing as he does 1 prom a year. I thought Adrian was a cert, I can only assume Malc and Carps most have houses up for sale or be in the market...
Simple Claudine my talent and popularity and my sunny disposition..
Claudine, the plan is to feed Kevin and his team lots of cake before every prom run.Oh and our team will celebrate with Vodka after every run.....now you can see why you are in!
.....and, where's the Ladies 'C' Team - as in 'C U Later'!!!!
Tuesday 30 October 2007
Meeting at 6.30? Hmm, all over by 8 then, no I'm with the girls!
Ginnie be afraid, be very afraid....http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/7068364.stm
See! I told you, I said cows are damn dangerous!!
Ginnie, I think you have to be with a dog first, I know I was with you but I don't think that counts. Scary though
Hi Ginnie - thanks for letting me know about this Thursday - I can't make this week as Andrew is running but I'm coming tonight to the beach runs and I'll make it the following Thursday
Ok ladies Prom B Team, we cant let Kevin's Vets D Team beat us this year. This has to be our focus if we wish to finish off the bottom of the table and avoid getting the wooden spoon this year!
Monday 29 October 2007
Meet at 7.30pm in Unwind for a drink. Table booked at Old Thatched Cottage for 11 of us (Pam, Geraldine, Sue, Ruth, Ginnie, Liz, Claudine, Grace, Marcella, Rachael, Fran ) at 8pm.P.S. Don't forget knitting patterns and crochet hooks.
11 is that all...last Thursday there was talk of Ruth and Sue wanting to come out with the boys as were much mopre fun and don't drink halves, well apart from Victor.
Final call for Ginger and Stan, rumour has it you wan't to jump ship ( thought of endless chat about Crochet,Trinny and susannah and other inane drivel). We would make you most welcome ,meeting in Scally's at 6.30 for Slipknot tribute band and beer. Join the hard drinking lads and listen to some ripping yarns...
Carolyn and Jo,I'll be out running a slow group 4 on Thursday if you want to join me.Ginnie

Don't forget that clocks go back on Sunday.
Thursday 25 October 2007
Is there anyone to take shorter runs on thursdays ie 5-6 miles. I'm almost at 8 miles but probably not at the club pace at the momentThank you
Wednesday 24 October 2007
I Would like to congratulate all the endurance athletes who did so well last weekend ( Paul S, Pippa ,Phil Buckets,Tim, Colin and KEVIN ). How Kev managed a whole morning in Pete Jones company the day after the night before is beyond me.
I am pleased to announce that we now have 1600 runners arriving on Weston Sea Front on December 9th for the 2007 Christmas Cracker. This is more than we have ever had before and depends on the full support of Club Members to make it a great day for all of those willing runners. This is the one event of the year when members do not run but they do help as without you the event simply would not happen. The 2006 event raised nearly Â10,000 for Weston Hospicecare which is a great achievement and one which everyone involved should be very proud of.A big thank you to all those members who have already offered their services on the day and if I have not spoken to you yet about helping........ I soon will!!This is a great day for members and runners alike and if you are able to marshal and help you will really enjoy it with free refreshments and a great atmosphere. If you can help and I have not yet spoken to you please let me know.
Tuesday 23 October 2007
I know it's a long shot but has anyone got a number for the Cheddar Half they're not using? Would like to run but left it too late to enter! Thanks
Hi Ian/MalcolmI would like to be included on the WAC prom race SM team if possible.CheersDave

I have kept my quiet and not got involved in the boys v girls saga, nowadays i try to be more tolerant with everyone ( i speak to Jonesy ),but as talk of a joint night out with the no tails continues i have to speak my mind.We dont want you spoiling our fun ,drinking, looking at tottie , belching ,f##ting ,eating vindaloo's and we don't think you would be capable of surviving this soiree. But in a spirit of mediation i have drawn up alist of top tottie who will be made most welcome. I have also included reasons behind selection, so here goes..Phil Richards- shoots horses, got two boys names, drinks bucketloads, quicker than me.Pippa Stephens- Can explain any injury problems, and knows lots of rugby songsSue (Stan)White- Masseuse enough saidRuth (ginger)White- Laughs at my jokes, navigational skills good for journey home.Claud Mercer- as illegitimate offspring of travelling russian vodka salesman can handle her liquor , also high pitched cackle will scare off any ne'er do wells.Alas the rest of you can stick to your pot pourri, crochet, ironing because you ain't coming.
I try to stop myself but sometimes, just very occasionally sometimes Victor, you make me laugh.
Word on the street is: The girls are gonna end up having curry with you lot anyway!!
For those of us that are apparently into crocheting, pot pourri and ironing (!!!) we have a table booked at 8pm on Friday 2nd at the Old Thatched Cottage. I have a lovely selection of new knitting patterns we can spend the evening looking over and discussing. If anyone wants to bring their needles feel free. So far we have Geraldine, Ginnie, Pam, Sue, Ruth, Claudine and myself booked in. Anyone else interested needs to let me know by Tuesday please so I can book extra seats.PS. Marks & Spencers has a new line in seasonal pot pourri in store. Really worth a look.!!!
Woman inspires us to great things, and prevents us from achieving them.
nice to see there is absolutly nothing about running on the club message board, great stuff keep it up, who needs bebo anyway!

All Weston AC Blokes.Give your ears a rest and escape the female chit-chat and come out for lads night out. Beer swilling is not compulsary and I am sure the converstaion will be cleaner than that discussed at the recent, so called 'Ladies' nite out.So, I need to know final numbers to confirm the ten-pin bowling alley by Monday. If you haven't seen my previous postings or I haven't managed to talk to you in the last couple of weeks, here is the low down:Come and join a few mates for a few beers, couple of games of ten-pin bowling (Â10) followed by a curry (Â?).Friday 2nd November7:30@ AMF Bowl, Weston2 games followed by a curry and a beer.(You might even squeeze a pint out of the Birthday Boy!)So, Please contact me as soon as possible as I need to confirm numbers for the bowling alley and the indian. Email or call 07793 715396Confirmed to date: Rob M, Chris D, Malc, Matt, Neale, Steve B, Bryan, Adrian N, Andy S.I have spoken to and I am waiting for confirmation from Jim White and Pete Telford.Dave
It would seem as though I have hit a raw nerve with the Sparrow. So, just for clarification, what do girlies talk about on their nights out? Heated arguments about the recent GB v NZ netball match? Thoughtful discussion about the recent Capital Gains Tax changes introduced by Mr Darling in his pre-budget speech? Maybe, light hearted banter about the rise and fall of Britney Spears and her musical career? I think not! It's cake recipes, blokes, crochet, vodka, the merits of various hair removal products and the latest snippets from gossip magazines!
Not forgetting Ben Fogle and his otters.
Firstly - Mr Williams - You really don't want to know what we talk about on 'ladies' (yes very loose description) nights. It might make you blush!Secondly - Dave Jones - I found my prom number at the bottom of my bag this morning when I took my beer goggles off - it is 157. Sorry if caused you any problems with results.
Indeed, Ginger Ruth, rabbits and blisters spring to mind.
Mmmm - a little too much information
Teletubbies !!! Is someone trying to tell me something??
To all prom runners. Unfortunately we experienced technical difficulties with the timing equipment during last night's race. We have recorded times for positions 1-69 and 174-237, but are missing the times in-between. We apologize for this. If you finished between 70th and 173rd and know your approximate finish time, then please let us know. We will do our best to produce a decent result sheet. Contact Dave Jones on 01934 414361 or if you can help. Thank-you for your assistance.

I think what RM meant to say was that it was quality over quantity with regard to the 'nights out'. Boys nights are filled with fun, frolics, beer and curry. Girls nights are all about knitting, giggles, Mills & Boon romance novels and idle chatter about who rates in the top 10 bloke totty in the club. Us blokes are above all of that, we have intelligent conversations about the merits of the 4-4-2 system in football and the dominance of the England forwards in the recent rugby matches. By all means girls, have your frequent nights out which fade in the memory......when blokes have a night out they pass into folklore!
Any members or friends who are not running tonight's prom race we need your help. Extra marshals are required tonight due to the congestion along the top end of the prom where the motorcycle race is being set up. So if you can help please come along to the Cabot Bars and see Dave Jones.
All I can say Kenneth, is you obviously have not been on a girls night out, we definitely do not discuss 'Mills & Boon'!!
Or 'Top Ten Tottie' in the club (as if there was any!!)
Or even 'knitting'!!

Ive heard the Esporta parties are at a much slower pace though!
and they go backwards...
c u SUNDAY!
Come on Gerry, do you really think that you can compete with one of the legendary âœboys nightsâ. I know we donâ™t have them very often but thatâ™s only because, at our age, they take so long to recover from. You know that, unlike you girls, we have tried to include you in a night out but even the pint swilling PB had to admit defeat in the end. So far itâ™s only Ginger Ruth whoâ™s kept pace with the lads but she doesnâ™t half start talking rubbish at the end of the night. But always up for a mixed social if you ladies want to arrange something.
>>at our age, they take so long to recover from<
Defeat???? Since when have I ever been defeated? Or admitted it??....You've laid down the gauntlett now!

JoMeet at ten to seven in the foyer at Esporta Health club in Locking Road. If you cannot see any other runners when you arrive the lady at the reception desk will be able to confirm for you that the running club is meeting there and who is leading (usually Ray). By about five to there should be at least a dozen people there.Starts 7pm prompt.
___ooo000 WAC Blokes 000ooo___Before you suffer the usual bonfire night trials and tribulations, come and join a few mates for a few beers, couple of games of ten-pin bowling (Â10) followed by a curry (Â?).Friday 2nd November7:30@ AMF Bowl, Weston2 games followed by a curry and a beer.(You might even squeeze a pint out of the Birthday Boy!)Please contact me as soon as possible as I need to confirm numbers for the bowling alley and the indian. Why should we miss out. If the boys are out - any girls fancy a night out. No bowling - not enough time to talk then. Maybe just a meal.....
Liz - Sounds like a plan to me!!
Hi Claudine - how are you - missed you on Sunday. Will you be down at the prom on Thursday??
Perhaps after Neales bash we could have a joint evening out!!
Excellent...I can't wait to see Claudine's legendary vodka drinking at first hand. Who's bringing the cakes?
With vodka who needs cakes?
