A message about the night run:
A reminder to WAC members that the Wrington Waddle (not Wobble as previously advertised) Night Run is due to take place this Thursday. Meet at 6.45pm for 7.00pm at Urchinwood Manor. Details can be found by clicking the link below. Usual rules apply, full body covering and bring a bright torch (something a bit more powerful than the torch your grandma gave you for an Xmas present when you were six).

We had great fun this morning giving out chips and t-shirts.. Great team work, lots of festive spirit and we even cable tied peoples chips for them, with icy cold fingers.... now that's service for you!!! Sophia has also found herself a vocation and a bucket load of self confidence, as a voice over with the megaphone, after wishing the runners a merry christmas and directing them to their t-shirt pick up point!!! and Maisie perfected marking peoples numbers (finely missing their clothes in some cases!!!) just gotta stop her doing it at home now ;)... fab day, great team work and we're looking forward to next year!!!
A very big thank you to everyone who generously donated to 'Wallace and Grommit's Grand Appeal' and supported 'Team Lydia' around, what was for me not only my slowest but longest 10km!! Thank you.
Our most successful Cracker ever, with over 1,600 runners braving the icy wind. Unusually, it was nearly won by a competitor dressed in fancy dress, ie Father Christmas! Also braving that icy wind were a significant number of club members - & in a lot of cases family members, who once again demonstrated their commitment to the club. As in previous years, I am extremely grateful to everyone for their support, especially the members of the Cracker Sub Committee.
Take a bow - you deserve it!!
Just to pass on thanks for the organisers of today's cracker. Great race, well organised but next time a little less wind please
Saturday 08 December 2012
Big thanks to Dave 'Social' Cowell for arranging today's Not Cracker - a great turn out by club members, some excellent fancy dress costumes & all finished off by a lovely breakfast!
Friday 07 December 2012

Thanks for all the advice for the head torch. Got a Petzl Tikka XP2 from GO Outdoors - 35.99 with a discount card! Even comes with a red flashing light!
Hopefully my night time excursions to the woods might be a bit safer!
Merry Christmas to all Weston ACer's, here's to plenty of 2013 New Year PB's!
Monday 03 December 2012
Don't be fooled Tobias, that was a test fall just to see if the Torch stayed on my head....Test successful.
6 more sleeps to the big day ....... but only 5 to a run and a big breakfast.
Our festive social run on Saturday starts at the Pier at 09:30 - be there prompt for a group photo and costume judging. Then we're off for an Adj amble around the beach and Uphill.
Don't forget to bring a change of clothes and wet-wipes ( maybe a towel if the current wet forecast is anything to judge by ).
If you've not got your name on the social webpage, or told me over the last coupe of weeks please get in touch ASAP - otherwise you might be starving :o/
I'm hearing good things about costumes/fancy dress - bring it on !! Don't forget a prizes for best male and female costume.
Dave
Congratulations Marc & Sam
at last he came out!
You'll be fine continuing with the running remember it was not you gave birth to him although it may have seemed like it at the time!
Neale/Tobias
Just to confirm, vets can run in Senior Teams in the Prom but not the other way around. The paper/online entry forms stipulate this.
Indeed, and looking at our A team, I guess this also applies to a couple of our (speedier) oldies.
Kevin M: Please note that the Petzl Tikka XP2 will NOT prevent you from going A over T!
Congratulations Marc, I'm happy for all 3 of you. Now the Big Adventure begins....
Tobias , i think i am correct in saying there are no age regulations re vets running in senior team. Rightly in my opinion if they are good enough to make the team then so be it. I can assure Mr Fews is good enough.
Congratulations Marc!
Just wondering how whippersnapper Fews got into Clevedon's Senior A Prom Team? Must've had a hard life; he looks like a Vet 50...
Sunday 02 December 2012
To all of those who have been kindly asking about the baby over the last few weeks, he was born this morning at 2.15am
He will be lining up at the start of the mile prom run this month in an effort to smash his Dads PB!
Thanks to all for the advice/support/kind words...see you at training if I can keep up
always there in spirit , hope to return refreshed and enthused following latest enforced layoff. Especially if ladies are turning up on the mendips
Bit too sunny for me today Josh. Didn't want to get my head burnt. I only go up there when it's miserable (which Victor's witty repartee normally assures).
Allo allo I will zay zis only wonce!
To on-her Monsieur Noble making zee wonderful arge of 50 there will be drinkie poo's and curry this Friday (Vendredi 7 Dec) starting at 19h00 in the Captains Cabin.
All those pissing by are most welcome, but you must come dressed as a Frenchman - this is not optional!
Good to see some WAC ladies out on the Mendips this morning. Talking of which where were Messrs. Clarke, Dev & Jarrett...
Victor, when you're my age the headtorch is useful for getting up in the middle the night - the old bladders not what it used to be !
Saturday 01 December 2012
You organise the the night runs victor, what would you suggest? I am open to all opinions :)
Why oh why does go slow Coalman need a head torch, surely he can drive to chip shop like i do.
Thanks for the info Rich.
Cash is a big factor but will def check them out
I've got a Gamma but don't actually use it for running. Great quality piece of kit for under fifteen quid. Think it's around 50 lumens, should be OK for road and country lane running though especially as it has a neat rear red lamp built into the battery pack.
The Fenix head lamps offer good value for money as do the SSC-P7 LED lamps that are adverised on ebay with some slightly exaggerated lumen claims.
A few of us have invested in Ay Up Leds for night mountain biking. These tiny lights are very, very bright, versatile and waterproof and can be mounted on handlebars, helmets and headbands. They now offer a running specific range. Ay Up are continually updating their LED's as more powerful lamps become available and offer a upgrade service so you can send your existing lamps off for replacement with the latest models. It's like riding in daylight when you have both sets on the bike, running off road with just one pair is a breeze. You can purchase them straight from the manufacturer, search for ayup.
Looking to get a head torch as my poor night vision is curtailing my running.
Question is, what would be the lowest lumen you would advise? Has anyone used an Alpkit Gamma?
Cheers

The cockney bi-sexual gnome is a bit obvious too.
but where to after 3 minute hero, stranglers to obvious i suppose.
Three minute hero?
Victor, it sounds as though Peter(as rediculously low slung bass as I can make it, now I have serious back problems) Hook's latest scribblings may be just what you need in your pillow case on Christmas morn.
Not the Brothers Gibb this time Neale, but 180 seconds of 2 Tone ska? Enough clues for you to work it out without having to resort to listen again? Great choice of T shirt today by the way, more impresiive than the Tache by a mile!
Barts , its so cold in my Joy division t shirt that i have buried myself under a load of cardboard and can hardly hear ratmac today . Not more Bee gees i hope.
Nick only runs in the woods nowadays and his torch is a Fenix TK12 very blinding
Sorry Victor. More spilt coffee?
Hi Kevin,
Have a look at the HOPE range of head torches.I had one given me for christmas last year.Rechargeable battery and can pick out anything up to 50 meters.Three settings of brightness
with flahing facility. Shop around on line. A bit expensive but worth every penny.
regards
Roger.
Just to let everyone know, I've just sent the full list of volunteers with tasks to Bryan to put onto the welcome page. This will probably appear after work tonight.
If anybody has any questions at all please feel free to give me a ring/text/email. Alternatively I will be at every training session next week if anybody wants a chat.
If there is anybody who hasn't yet volunteered, then please dont be shy, you can see how many people have volunteered already and you can also see some vacant slots that still need filling....plese just give me a shout.
Can I say a massive thank you to everyone who has volunteered. There has been a massive response and I haven't had to nag at all, it has been an absolute pleasure, especially chatting through Cracker day with some of our newer members.
Looking forward to the big day!!

Hello Kevin, i recently bought a Petzl Tikka XP2, they had great reviews and i'm really pleased with it. Great beam and really steady on the head. I bought mine from the outdoor shop at Cheddar Gorge for 40, but tou can get them on Amazon for less.
If anyone becomes aware of a Xmas Cracker place going spare, could you let me know as I have a friend who would like one. Thankyou.
Can anyone recommend a good head torch for running? Nearly went A over T tonight coming down through the woods onto Sandbay. Thanks
Readers of Jog Mag Runners's World will be familiar with Paul Tonkinson's column, 'Tonky Talk'. I have going spare x1 ticket for his show on Friday night at the Tobacco Factory. Cost = 12. No obligation to sit next to me & you buy your own pint (make mine a Milk Stout).
Monday 26 November 2012
Adge, thank you for those kind words, one doesn't want to blow ones own trumpet, it is however reassuring to know you hold me in such high regard. Cant make it this weekend, as I am doing missionary work in Wales.
The amount of time that Mr Johnstone spent horizontal by falling over and such, in the last few years I would suggest that the job he is the man for amounts to draught excluder
Mr Alan Johnstone, perhaps you could advise Mr Paul Gleeson on an in depth training schedule. This may involve him joining your dream team.As you said im only an outsider but i feel your the man for the job.!!!
Just four club championship races remaining with just 2 races separating the top three in the race for the coveted Barry Hotlegs Trophy. Who will win? Will Mr Gough fall at the last hurdle or will Team Hinchliffe buckle under the weight of expectation? Find out in a month's time!
Paul,
It hadn't gone unnoticed that you'd been slacking a bit recently. I'm sure the club will overlook this however, as we welcome all abilities @ WAC, and I'm sure you'll only improve with time.
I'd say either Jamie T or Pete C might be able to point you in the right direction training wise. They'll have seen you @ training sessions anyway and know that you really need to work on your speed.
My advice would be to stay away from Victor and anyone else who regularly graces the Mendips with their presence; only trouble.
Good luck & welcome!
Sunday 25 November 2012
PS I haven't been at training due to a combination of a twinge in my knee and travelling with work. Be back tomorrow!
Hi guys. Couple of things for my first post. First of all I'd like to say thanks to the positive words that have come my way. Its really nice to be apart of such a positive team and I look forward to 2013!
I was wondering could anyone sit down with me to work out a training plan that will help me achieve my goals? My email address is paulgleeson1@hotmail.com if anyone could help.
Will the 'tough ten' be any contribution to my half marathon goals or should I go for a straightforward 10 miler instead?
One more thing- I've heard alot of good words about the Mendip runs. Does anyone go for between 12-16 miles on a Saturday up there that I could tag along with (and possibly scab a lift off because I don't drive yet).
Thanks again for the welcoming!
Hi Adge, I realise it's been a difficult few weeks for you since my stunning success in the Weston Half, but envy can be all consuming. Best let me take charge of your training and hone you into a supreme athlete like myself. Glad you enjoyed your run I anticipated everyone being at Brent Knoll so went round Sand Bay and Woodsprings for a 12 miler.
Alan YOUR QUIPS GO BEFORE YOU.KNOWING THAT YOUR RUNNING IS LIKE A RABBIT HAVING SCHIZOPHRENIA,AS WITH YOUR SENSE OF DIRECTION I THINK YOU WOULD BE BETTER STICKING TO YOUR DAY JOB OF LOLLIPOP MAN!!!!!--- CAN I ALSO ADD THAT THIS MORNINGS RUN TO CROOKS PEAK WAS SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING THAN THE NORMAL DEAFNESS I SUFFER WHEN YOU ATTEND.I HAD SARAH ALL TO MYSELF.!!!
Disco, You are indeed substantialy more interesting than Adge, but having seen you blabbing in the Gloucester 20 when I passed you at 16 miles, the question is, are you tough enough for my team, and if you come to the Cabot Bars training sessions will you embarrass us by drinking shandy.
20th...theres something going on that evening isn't there...ah yes me works do. Let's make it 01/01/13 Hangover 10K. See you at the startline Disco ;-O)

Josh, 20th Dec...
Disco, if you hadnt been too tight to pay your subs this year recent performances suggest senior a glory could have been on the cards.
Al, the prospect of joining the Dads Army team has me on the verge of rejoining the mighty WAC - am I interesting enough for selection? I have a Two Ronnies Box set so pretty confident i can keep up with the Adge banter...
Having been asked to lead a team for the prom series. I have, with all humility ,decided to accept. I am advocating a revolutionary new training regime that will require members to attend the Cabot Bars twice weekly.I did request that I only had interesting people in my team, so unfortunately Adge, you have been left out.
Friday 23 November 2012
Everyone else is easing off as the year closes, but Super Nurse Maddy just can't stop herself running half marathons......nutter!
Has anyone in the club got any cycling rollers or a turbo trainer they want to sell?
Stupidly gave mine away last year and looking to kit my shed out for the winter nights!
Tobias - please can you contact me regarding the prom team. 07507 793313.
Thanks,
Pete
The next night run ,The Wrington wobble will be on thursday 13th december . 6ish country miles and mince pies to follow . Will post further details closer to date.
Thursday 22 November 2012
Hi Jim you have Tobias and I down for
same finish position 5k prom no 15th place ?

>>> The Not-Cracker <<<
Don't forget it's our ore cracker run on 8 December. Pull on your best fancy dress or even that awful Xmas jumper and run the cracker route. Prize for the best dressed and of course a free full English to follow.
Let me know if you're coming so you don't miss out on your fry up. Dave
Tuesday 20 November 2012
If you have been asked by Malcolm to join the SENIOR MEN'S A TEAM (you may be asked during the next few days if not already), please can you contact me. It would be good if we can work together as a team for the rest of the series - have warm-ups together, and to train and race tactically. I believe that this year's team has real potential and that those who have not already achieved sub-30 are capable of doing so this series. 07507 793313

******CRACKER VOLUNTEERS DEC 9TH*********
We have 3 weeks to go to The Cracker!
This year the Cracker is on Sunday December 9th 11am.
As usual members of the club are not able to run the race because of the number of volunteers we need on the day.
There will be 2000+ runners with supporters for us to look after and its our role as Weston AC to make them all very welcome and make their Cracker day a wonderful experience.
The Cracker is an event that helps raise a lot of money for charity and also for club funds to support your kit and social events and this is why we need all members of the club to help.
On the day we will need people to man the HQ, bag store, handing out chips, marshalling before during and after, water stations, chip removals, handing out tshirts and mince pies etc etc.
This is massive and we wecome all of you, your family and friends to support us.
Please could you either email me, text or phone me on 07540 823017, or see me on a club training night to let me know how you would like to help.
Tonight I have put together my first draft list and I'm about 30 volunteers short.
Please dont be shy, its a great day!
Lesley x
And just to Inspire you:
I found longer races boring. I found the mile just perfect.
Roger Bannister
I am planning to 'race' the mile in Dec (if my body can hack the hard training)!- After all it is christmas and i like treating myself. So if anybody cares to join in the pain with me then great. Hope there is a bucket ready at the end!
Chris G, I was a WAC member 2nd claim; as I believe Kit was when he won Prom? Suggest we focus on inspiration to improve, like chasing down 'team Clevedon'? And Chris, as we two are blessed with similar 'gasping gaits', further inspiration may be found from Jan02 Hangover 10k and Street 5k results? Peace and good will.
Yes but Has Anyone won the Prom as a WAC club Member.
Thanks Rich & Victor, you're too kind. Great to see a new WAC dynasty emerging, and such depth in membership. Happy Days. Also fondly remember Goofy, MickyH, RichB & JamieT speedy WAC sessions '01-04, when 1st few WAC guys usually 28 or under @ Prom. (Won Prom Oct01, but only 4th in Jan02 with 25mins50!) Expect the talented Mr Gleeson (& others?) to beat that in due course. No limits when you're young....
Saturday 17 November 2012
Blimey, how could I forget Weston's very own poet laureate - will he ever speak to me again ?
sorry for such late notice but if you were planning on meeting me at Swan tomo for run I now won't be there due to unforeseen circumstances.
Also have to mention a certain Mr Lund who has defo won it and still inspires some of us old fogeys...
Rich you are right , old Buck the goofy one definately one it but what is good to see at the moment is a group of WAC runners going 30 or less . Brings back memories of Hurley,Stokes,Thorpe,Dunstone and old go slow himself.
Josh/Pete, see you at the Swan
Thanks Rich
But the old Nightrider was with Clevedon.
Chris, The slightly goofy triathlete won back in May 2008 - believe he may have actually been paced by Victor though ! I imagine the likes of Chris Old, Mick Hurley, Perry Somers may also have won or come close.
Yes Well Done Paul Gleeson.
Which must be the best debut Club Prom position.
Does anyone know when/Has a WAC member ever won the prom?
Who will be the first to line up alongside the juniors???
Friday 16 November 2012
Paul Gleeson - WOW - super prom time - welcome!
Sarah - the link to your email isn't working. Can you email me?
Are you man or woman enough to line up for the one mile race in Dec?
See you there Pete.
Sunday long run 7.45 am the Swan Rowberrow. 13 miles - please post a message here if you plan on joining me.
Thursday 15 November 2012

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your help.
The sea defences will be closed due to the high tide at 7:38. May need a few exra minutes to walk onto the prom
See you later
Jim, I'll be along to marshal tonight, see you later
Monday 12 November 2012
Thanks to Dave & the ladies for our run & breakfast on saturday. And to Paul for giving us all a unique running experience(apart from Sarah). Was I the only one to notice?...Wes started the run at EIGHT minutes past NINE on the TENTH of the ELEVENTH 2 thousand and TWELVE!
Sarah. May have to give my place up because of work. Will let you know by the end of the week.
Sunday 11 November 2012
Have a couple of friends wanting to run the full monty in December. So if anyone has a number they do not want please could you let me know. Thank you!!!
Adge, I am going to wear sunglasses next week, the glare of your head today made running with you extremely hazardous. As for your side splitting quips., I suggest you stop reading the Beano and aim for something more sophisticated.
Thanks Alan & Mike for a pleasant mornings run.Shame about your so called jokes Alan, like your hair, there wearing a bit thin!!!
When I fall Alan I do it with style, have one for me tonight mate
hi Mike thank you for a very pleasant run,Even Adge made some almost funny jokes, your fall on the dykes was quite spectacular , hope to emulate it on my way home from the Cabot bar tonight.
Lovely 16ish miles with Messrs Johnstone and Marshall this morning. Thanks guys really enjoyed the run and your wonderful company
>>>>THE NOT-CRACKER<<<<
Hey the big day is approaching when you get to dress up, run10k and have a free full English breakfast..... all in the name of sport. If you are wanting to run the not-cracker and staying for breakfast then please let me know via the social page, email or txt. Don't forget prizes for best male and female fancy dress. Dave
Saturday 10 November 2012
Big thanks to Dave for organising todays breakfast run from Barton Camp, to Paul for a lovely muddy run and an extra big thanks to all the ladies in the kitchen for a marvelous breakfast with the bacon cooked just the way i like it!

Hi Simon, I've got a spare number for the slog, if you want it email or text me 07795063671
Victor, There's no substitute for natural ability :)
We've all entered Bideford Half Marathon if you fancy coming along, your old friend the slightly goofy one might make a appearance.
Doesn't look likely that any more numbers for the slog are going to appear, so if anyone is running from the Swan tomorrow I'll be happy to join you.
Friday 09 November 2012
Just noticed Large local triathlete Rich Coalman has done one club championship race this year. He beat me,less is obviously more and the way forward for my training.

Would've certainly cleared your hangover Victor.
Have five seats going to Sodbury Slog on Sunday. Contribution to petrol would help.
Hi Rachel, is your Slog place still available? I will be at the Handicap on Tues and the club night on Thurs as well.....Cheers Guy
Sodbury Slog number up for grabs *trample*
Saturday 03 November 2012
Simon
Sorry only just saw your message.

Thanks to all for putting on Night run tonight and to Dave and co for food etc to finish with
Cheers Dom! Mike W, yes to Hutton Moor tonight.
Wednesday 31 October 2012
Well done Kieron for coming second for club at Portishead
Tuesday 30 October 2012
Is anyone running from Hutton Moor on Thursday?
Is anyone going to the Burnham-on-sea 5k? if so and you are driving, could I hitch a ride. I'll contribute towards fuel. cheers.
Hi Sarah/Gareth/Bryan
Results for Portishead not easy as they do not appear to have included the club.
From my position on the finish you have missed Keiron Summers our second man in 42.31, Ruth Green our first lady in 55:49. I also think Simon Ball 50.11 may be WAC but not 100% sure.
Anyone I have missed apologies and just post on the site and Gareth will pick up
Monday 29 October 2012
The website issues reported a few days ago are now fixed (thanks Sara/Gareth) so normal service is resumed.
That's right, meet at Trop for warm up at 7:05-7:10. By the way has anyone been able to access results for the Portishead Multi from this weekend?
Are Tuesday Eve's back on the prom now? Meet at 7pm? It's been a while :)
Can I just remind everyone that's its the Cracker Stuffing Party on Friday night at 6.30pm at Weston Hospicecare, Thornbury Road, Uphill.
If anybody would like to still take part, feel free to still turn up. You will be very welcome esp as two participants are currently in New York and may not be back by then !! x
(Can't believe D has just said if we are delayed enough we could stay for the NY marathon next weekend!)
Sunday 28 October 2012

Saturday 27 October 2012
Anyone not going to Sodbury Slog? Been convinced that I should do it...may regret it but let's see!
Friday 26 October 2012
Dear All
We have an issue with the website at present preventing admin level access so we cannot post messages on the welcome board, input race results etc. We are working on resolving the issue but in the mean time please use this message board as the main communications method.
To that end, as per Jamie's message below, Jamie's Super Saturday Training Session will start at 8am from Marine Lake. Be there or be in bed....you choose!
Bryan, I cannot access admin. Need to post message that session is 8am at Marine Lake (27th)
Thanks Mark. I can't believe you didn't rearrange the honeymoon for the annual mud racing event. Actually, no, there's been an abundance of mud runs this year.
I'll email you the details. Thanks again.
Hi Sara, yeah I've got a slog number going - I kinda forgot I'd be on honeymoon
Wednesday 24 October 2012
I have a couple of friends looking to enter the Sodbury Slog, if anybody has a number going please let me know.
Thanks Sara
Monday 22 October 2012
Hi Guys thanks for your messages glad to be of help.
Sarah well done on getting your squadron back in one piece.
As I was not fit enough to run the race this year I thought I would take the opportunity of taking the dog up to the top and take the time to enjoy the view. The weather forecast did not mention peasoupers over Exmoor.
As it was the marshal in the landrover showed no inclination to get out of his vehicle into the cold and damp so I spent one and a half hours showing runners the way as they appeared out of the gloom
Happy to help
Jim Wooton at Dunkery Beacon was a very welcome navigational aid, as at that point I could see no tape or arrows, let alone other runners (then again the ground was a bit hazey too). A big thank you for the moral and navigational suport.
Can i add my thanx to the Squadron Leader, for selflessly sacrificing another sub 3 hour Stagger to plod round with myself Katie and our Berkshire Contingent, Kay & Mandy yesterday. Also fair play to Jim for appearing out of the mist at the top of Dunkery! And finally Guy/Tobias/Nicky/John/Geraldine who sacrificed half their sunday waiting for us at the finish line.

Well done everyome at Exmoor stagger sounds like fun ( not ) Thanks Tobias for your message. Well done Liz !
Got talked into running The Exmoor Stagger by Tobias 'The little lost lamb' Hinchliffe. You haven't run a race until you have done this brutal test, the hill at 12 was eating my legs. But the biggest surprise was Jim Wotton and his dog at the Beacon....superb!
Sarah S aka 'Squadron Leader'. I would just like to say a huge thank you for getting us round The Stagger today, I really appreciated your encouragement.
THANK YOU! :0)
Martin, hope you are ok. Thanks for message.
Martin; were you happy with your run, excepting gate incident?
Liz, don't worry. It was still a great run. I didn't see you for dust. And you didn't collide with the gate at 14 miles and go flying like some of us. The bruises are coming up nicely now.
Liz, you haven't failed or let anyone down!
Still a great time, and you live to fight another day. I know it's disappointing, but we've all had our disasterous races; you've witnessed enough of mine!
You've got consistancy if nothing else ;O) You'll get sub 3:08.56 one day...
Dear Santa,
I really need some things to help me with my running. For Christmas this year I would like:
1. A Pair of Glasses (like Bruce's)
2. An OS Map of Exmoor
3. A Compass
4. Some Dock leaves for the stingers
5. A "Don't follow me; I don't know where I'm going" sign
6. Some new trainers to replace my holey ones
7. A white stick
8. Some new, less abusive running fwends
Thank you Santa :O)
There was a lot of expectation on my race today and I failed. Things didn't work out for me. I'd done the work, achieved some good times but on the day it did not all come together.
I did want to thank Jamie however. He has helped me tremendously this year and given up a great amount of his free time (including some very early morning training sessions) to get me some amazing results and times that I'd never have thought possible. This one race didn't work for me but lots of others have... So... Thank you Jamie.
Well done maddie. Moving up to Marathons now? ;O)
Anyone news on Abingdon?
Jim - you deserve a prize for the support on Dunkery today. Hope hypothermia hasn't set in!
Well everyone i have completed my five half marathons in a row, i finished the last one in a good time of 1.58.48 very pleased as it was hilly and people that know me know how i love hills. Thanks for everyones support. Brian please can you post Birmingham results on the website. Maddie.

Just wanted to say thanks to all concerned (organisers, marshalls, parents) for putting on last evening's excellent 1 mile event. A great turn out and some really fantastic performances by the youngsters. As word gets around I think we can expect even greater participation in the remaining two races. Cheers!
Thursday 18 October 2012
Thank you to everybody that turned up tonight to help put on and marshal both the mile run and the prom run.
I think the mile run was well received but most importantly you helped to deliver it safely
Thanks
Jim
Just to advise you all that the Prom race is going ahead tonight as planned despite recent reports of localised flooding due to the high tide/inclement weather this week.
Is the Prom still on?
Tuesday 16 October 2012
yeah, and cider loading tips too!
What, like, Carbo loading tips Bryan?
Still looking for that 'on' switch Bryan although it makes an excellent dust sheet stand ;-O)
You have got to be joking Josh! I think I will have to get a few 50 and 100 milers under my belt first. I will be taking tips from the Ultra Endurance Maestro Mr Weaver me thinks. Now you have the instruction manual for the rower Josh have you managed to figure out how to turn it on?
Great fun Sunday. Well done Mr Hogg all runners & marshalls/helpers. Thanks to the course markers for the well positioned tape. Good job we had Marc 'longshanks' Bostock to help with the bits in the tree's and over the stream. Brain Morley I have found that challenge you were looking for in 2013. Google 'Grand Union Canal Race' read it and weep...

Please be advised that entry to the Cracker has now closed.
Yes Lesley, sorry I did mean 7.10, not 6.10!
Many thanks to everyone involved with the Muddle, as runners and/or helpers. The events appears to have been a big sucess.
Tony
Wow Pete! Thats a mega warm up! Should the time be 7.10? not 6.10? I'd be going home after the warm up, Lol!
My top has found its way back to me! Thankyou Pam!!
Cracker entry closes at 7pm tonight so you had better get in quick!
Wednesday's Street 5k & yesterday's Burnham-on-Sea Aquathlon results up on the Wells City Harriers, and bospool sites respectively...
Well done Muddlers!
INTERVALS TUESDAY 16TH. Just to remind runners that we are meeting at the Pier, not the Tropicana this week (due to possible obstructions from the weekend's beach race). Please meet at 6.10 for a warm-up at the Pier, or the usual 7PM at Hutton Moor. Everyone to meet at the Pier 7.20 - 7.25 for the main session. Thanks!
I wonder if any items left at charterhouse were picked up yesterday? I stupidly left a long sleeved running top and forgot to pick it up in my haste to get home!!!
Sunday 14 October 2012
Thanks for the touching words at the end of the speech Tony. Just because you're sweet talking me don't think you can persuade me to take the Muddle organisation back from you! Well done on a sterling effort not only today but all the months of preparation that goes into the Muddle organisation. The beginning of an era longer than Alex Ferguson's reign at Man Utd.
Well done Tony on your first Muddle you will be pleased to know you have got the job.
Yes big thanks to Tony and all helpers today on another well organised race.
Mendip Muddle-What was that all about! Cheers Tony it was Bogtastic.
Fantastic run on the Mendips this morning. Well done to Mr Hogg and all of the marshals.
Saturday 13 October 2012
Back from the Muddle course mark-up. I've honestly never seen the mendips so dry. Must have been the long hot summer we've had. I'll expect some pretty quick times, if not PB's. Road shoes/racing flats highly recommended on race day. Good luck all!
Muddle Update - 13/10/12 : The race director says that entry on the day will be available for the Muddle.
Friday 12 October 2012
Muddle pre-race entries now closed. A decision as to whether entry on the day will be available will be posted here soon.
I see you have even clicked the "count me in" button twice in a vain attempt to boost the apparent entry numbers.
I've entered the portishead 10k with a couple of friends so really hoping it goes ahead
Thursday 11 October 2012
Anyone thinking of entering the Portishead 10k is being urged to do so online by the 19th October. They've had very few entries and may have to cancel the event. The race is on the 28th. It's quite a fast multi-terrain without masses of climb and well worth a shot if you've not done it before. If you've not raced off-road before this is a good place to start.
If you have any friends or family who wish to take part in the Cracker they need to enter very soon as the race is nearly at capacity. Please visit the Cracker webpage (link above) or the Welcome Page note for details of how to enter.
Wednesday 10 October 2012
Hi Jim, Mark Molloy was about 5 seconds ahead of me, hope this helps.
