Can I say a big thank you to everyone who helped and for those non members reading this and who have entered the Cracker....your race number and details are on their way!
and for those members who have yet to offer their help on race day....we still need you!!!

Sunday 09 November 2014
I hope all those shiny new shirts are clean by Tuesday.
Well done all
Well done my little gingy chopped assassin another well deserved 1st to the flying Chorlton and amazing 3rd for Barry Hall who only a couple of weeks ago had a crocked knee as big as my beer belly . thoroughly enjoyed todays mud filled race as by looks of some photos did our Dirty girls.
I can confirm that after thorough testing today, mud running with just one shoe is not recommended.
Simons new method of running with only one shoe does not help you get through the mud any quicker sorry Simon I will not be trying it
Saturday 08 November 2014
Hi Kira,
Thanks as well messages, must have crossed
Hi Adge,
I intend to be at Walnut at 8:15 tomorrow
Hi Michelle,
Thanks for the offer to help at the next mile run
Can help out along course if r'q
Re one mile prom run.
I will be able to help Marshall.
Did anyone from the committee recieve an e-mail from Inter sport regarding a club discount for club members. The manager is keen to support it, but just needs the OK from his peers. He also wants to organise a late opening club night for individual gait analysis and discounted purchases. I think I've talked him into a 15% discount hopefully, which will be ace because they have a mega selection of running shoes.
Message for Jim. New E/Mail Address. adrianperran@yahoo.co.uk

Evening all
Those of you who haven't yet let me or Jim know that you'll be able to help on Cracker day (or why you can't) will have had an email from me tonight.
Please can you reply to Jim, or me in the next few days? We're putting our master list of Santa's little helpers together next Friday, so need all your names in before then.
And if you haven't had an email at all, and want to volunteer, then can you let one of us know too, as it means the super-dooper system we've got in place has gone belly-up somewhere along the way.
Cheers all.
Ness
Hi All,
Re comment below:
Following the fantastic success of the one mile run and increasing numbers from next month we will station a number of marshals before the turn at each end to keep the runners separated (as we now do on the main race) I will need a couple of extra volunteers at 6:15 or so to help with this pleasemr.
It was amazing to see such a brilliant race put on for youngsters last Thursday on the prom and being free what more could you we ask for.
i hope you dont mind me saying that a minor issue i noticed was that as the faster ones were coming back to the finsih on their 2nd lap many of them almost collided with others going down the prom for their 2nd lap. Can it be made clear at the start of the race perhaps on which side of the prom they shoud stay on throughout the race. thank you

Phil, you can have my place for sodbury slog - just turn up and collect my number
Having been ill and too slow off the mark, I'm still after a Sodbury slog place if there are any others out there, tvm.

Would anyone like my place in the Gosport Half marathon on 16th Nov (no charge) Apparently it's flat and fast - but having already achieved my target for this year I'm seriously lacking enthusiasm for it.
I’ve checked the website and its fine with the organiser to swop the runner. Drop me an e-mail if you’re interested. Cheers

Just one slightly disturbing thing to report I don't know if anyone else noticed the three old fellas at the back following the two young ladies, they looked a bit dodgy to me (Compo, Foggy and Clegg) luckily I got a photo of them in my album.
Completely agree with Kieron, the club members support today was amazing. Both from runners and spectators, it made the run easier and more enjoyable so thank you all.
Extra proud to be a member of this great club today. My little sister got a PB despite a dodgy ankle in the Weston 'Half Marathon' and the support on course from club members was truly outstanding, there were more of you than there were marshalls! This race once again highlighted how well our own races are organised, and how easy it is with apathetic and poor briefed marshalls for things to go wrong.
Saturday 01 November 2014
Just to let everyone know who is watching Weston half tomorrow, it is Wilf's birthday and he is running as Robin with his partner in crime James, so please give him an extra big cheer to wish him a happy birthday especially as he didn't want anyone to know !
Message to Paul Oaten , There are some Bleadon 10k distance markers still out on the levels.
Friday 31 October 2014
Just wondering when will the 1mile prom results be avaliable on the website??
Thanks
Congratulations and well done to all the runners who completed in the 1 and 5 mile prom race last night. A record turnout for both events and the first time we have gone over 300 finishers in the main race. As always a huge well done to all the helpers both out on the promenade and in race HQ. The registration desks were exceptionally busy but were handled in their usual professional manner. Well done and thank you.

Reluctantly looking for a Sodbury Slog number if anyone hears of one going…tvm.
Hi Jim Wotton (hope I've spelt your surname correctly!), my sister-in-law Sarah would like your email add for contact. I know you mentioned before - she hasn't got a working computer at home, but obviously can connect elsewhere. Could you send it to me @ my email add? Many thanks.
Monday 20 October 2014
Adge - you'll have to be quicker than that. With your message I mean, not your marathon time, which obviously was very good. Report written last night and on our fine club's homepage. And yes, you may spot a familiar name in there.

Top stuff from Nick Briffitt from The Abingdon Marathon, his second sub 3 of the year in 2:55:02. Marc Bosock must have arrived at the start an hour late, but still managed 3:55:02.......Good effort fellas.....Couldn't find anymore WACers in results.
I enjoyed it that much i did an extra couple of miles,That's the last time i'm following Phils directions.

Any of you Tri-hards fancy a top end TT bike for next year?
Bought a £4000 spec Matrix TT bike this summer, rode it once at Windsor Tri and realised it's too small.
It's a 56cm frame which would suit anyone 5"8 to 6"0ft I reckon.
Letting it go for £2000. Totally genuine, full carbon, deep section wheels etc, full Ultegra groupset.
Let me know if you want a test ride

Keiron, we were both right and wrong. She was 4th the first time. But then a little disappointed the second time with the lack of opposition and winning easily by a wide margin.
Hi everyone, anybody know if there is a run tomorrow from Hutton moor, not up for the handicap yet just need a gentle run out to see if my calf will hold out thanks
Sunday 05 October 2014
If anyone has a Sodbury Slog place, my friend Kate is after one? Can you email or FB me. Thanks.

I nearly forgot Little Leighton Smith who I do believe did the sub 1.30 well done
Well done Simon Lund 1st WAC at Burnham today, who said that after 3 miles he was so out of breath that he couldn't talk wich must have been bliss for everyone around him at the time. And 2 special mentions first Tony Hogg who was telling me the other night that he hadn't done a 1.30 wich I was really surprised at but the Vicking has smashed it today. And Marc Bostock cracked it at Cardiff this morning joining the 90 minute club well done lads and well done all that completed halves and Triathlons today some for the first time.
Hey. Just to let you all know. I wasn't supergirl today at Cardiff half with a time of 1:33:27. Wilf ran in my place as I double booked myself lol

Prom Teams:
Please can everyone who would like to be on a team email me. Regardless of your ability, I should be able to put you in team (subject to level of interest and available places). What is important is that you can commit to running at least 6 of the 9 races in the series.
I would particularly like to hear from female members as we were low on numbers last year.
When you email, please state your age and recent prom times or 10k times.
I reckon we can be competitive against other clubs across the categories this year, so long as you talented athletes come forward!
Thanks!
Loved group 4 last night Thank you and a nice 9 miles clocked :)
Well done to all of the people who joined group 4 last night and did the full 4 bridges route for the first time. This route is about 8.5 miles long but will be over 9.0 for those who did lots of segmenting back

Endless Summers I like it Ness Quality
Hi Phil, Neale thought they were normal he has ordered a medium if that's any help.
Lots of winter cycling gear in Aldi on Thursday.
Re.: LS Tees. I didn't get a chance to try on samples at the Prom on Thursday. What's the general consensus on sizing? Tight/generous, up/down a size or normal? Thanks, Phil
Well done to all who ran the Bristol HM yesterday. and a special mention to the unsung hero of the day. Sarah, who negotiated the backstreets of Briz to get to the Colston Hall incredibly quickly after her other half, who obviously had no faith in the bag storage decided the safest place for his ignition key was locked safely in the boot of his car?? thanx Sarah.
Sunday 21 September 2014
Southville Runners are doing the Nightingale Nightmare 10k Sun 2 Nov 14. Brilliant little off-roader around Leigh Woods, v friendly & fun race, bargain £8 affiliated.
Lots of great performances this weekend, torn between two for the best though. Nick Briffitt: 4hrs 1 minute for Uphill-Wells relay, 29 mile multi, truly superb or Adrian 'Pitbull' Noble PBing Bristol Half in 1hr 26m 32 secs at the age of... well never mind.
I'm sure everyone who ran/biked/swam this weekend would agree the level of support was amazing, many thanks to all.
Thankyou Shilly mission accomplished just, I hope you had a good Langport Tri with the other boys and girls and Chris
Good luck to all the WAC runners racing today, looks a lovely day for it. C'mon Chadders you can do it!

A great start to the prom series last night with lovely conditions and a large number of spectators. We had a record entry of juniors with 65 finishers which made it a wonderful race. Also with 288 finishers for the main 5 mile race it was only 7 short of our previous record set last year. Thanks once again to everyone involved both in race HQ and out on the course for making it all happen.

Hey the Oldbury power station results are messed up for the ladies only Phil is on there.
Well done summers for your awesome time.
Good afternoon Adge, I felt the run today went very well, I was very happy to act as your pacemaker and much heartened when you were able to keep up. One issue that caused me some concern was your apparent speech impediment, When you asked a certain young lady about her thong, I naturally assume you meant song and could not enunciate the word correctly. I feel an element of caution is called for, Imagine the possible consequences if you should encounter a poor woman gasping after a vigorous run and you comment on her big breaths
Nice to see a few fellow WACers (Kev & Co) at the Doone Run in Lynton this morning. 2000+ feet of elevation in 10 miles, steep climbs through the Lyn valley, cracking switchback descents and fantastic finish through the Valley of Rocks. Only negatives were wardrobe malfunction going through a kissing gate and slight detour through someone's back garden on the run in. Lovely!
Good running Ladies, gents, young uns and old uns at Olbury today ,But Wow The Boy wonder Summers 59.34 AMAZING.
Great running at Oldbury today. Much respect to the speedsters.

Mo Farah denies collusion with training partner to win Great North Run...... For those of you who watched it i'd loved to hear your view
Just got back from Bridgwater half marathon. A very well organised event, good course, plenty of parking, use of rugby club changing rooms and only a few minutes away. If you have not done this one before it is well worth putting down for next year. By the way do not ask about the time (a PW).

Apologies WACers for my continued absence. Rather than being abducted I have spent so long resting up my injured knee that I am now too scared to return. Fear not though I have still been racing and with counseling am building up the courage to lace up my trainers and return to the fold.
Two Bays race are going to have disposable chips
This year so help not needed

Jim/Barry. I recently asked about a final club entry. John h managed to squeeze in, but I was told by runbristol that they wouldn't accept any further individual entries. We had about 45/50 people enter and most of them I did in two block bookings. In order to benefit from the discount that is the way they like us to do it, they don't like receiving further entries in dribs and drabs. So I'm afraid not.

Hi Barry,
I have just had a quick look at the Bristol site. It looks as though whilst closed to individual entries they are still taking entries via the club block booking. If you ask Julia Withers nicely she may be able to contact them and still get you in at the reduced entry.
I do note believe Bristol are allowing any name changes on the entries.
anybody not running bristol half and wants to give their number a new home im looking for a place

Adge, If we are ever going to increase your following we need to convince people that your intelligence quotient is above the moronic, As Mark Twain said, " Better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt".
Hi Simon (and others)
Glad you enjoyed the run this morning. Company always seems to make the miles go quicker and stops you being tempted to cut it short.
There will nearly always be a group at the Walnut at 8:15 (whatever the weather) even though it may not be advertised.
Cheers
WELL MR CHAIRMAN,AS PART OF MY FOLLOWING TODAY,I CAN SEE THAT SPEED AND FITNESS ARE NOT YOUR THING.HAVING MENTIONED TO ME DURING VERY DEEP BREATHLESSNESS CONVULSIONS THAT YOU STRUGGLED TO KEEP UP WITH A NICE POLISH GENT OUT WALKING HIS DOG!! I ASSUME THAT YOU WILL BE CARRYING THIS QUALITY OF SO CALLED RUNNING WITH YIU WHEN THE PROM RUNS BEGIN SOON?.CAN I SUGGEST THE PURCHASE OF A DOG,IT WILL GET YOU OUT EVERY DAY,AND IS GOOD FOR SOMEONE WHO IS BARKING MAD!!UNTILL THEN KEEP TAKING THE MEDICINE.
Thanks for a great run this morning, it was much better running as part of a group for a change
