Weston Christmas Cracker 2020
Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all runners, marshals and spectators is our first priority when organising any of our events. With the ongoing challenges of the Pandemic, simply cancelling the event is an easy option for us but has serious implications for our main race charity, Weston Hospicecare. Additionally we know how much local runners and those from further afield look forward to competing in this festive favourite race and like the motivation of having an event to prepare for, especially in the winter months.
For these reasons we have decided that the Christmas Cracker 2020 will be a virtual fun race which you can all enjoy and look forward to. It will also provide much needed help to our race charity, Weston Hospicecare, which does an incredible job, like all the hospices around the country. All profits from the 2020 virtual event will go to Weston Hospicecare.
So here is your opportunity to appear on a Christmas Cracker Virtual Race Results page where you can compare your times against your friends and family.
Christmas Cracker Virtual Event Details (Over 16 only)
- your own socially distanced 10k any time between 12th and 28th December. Even on Christmas day!!
- Submit your time to our Race Website Results page
- In January all finishers will receive their finisher's medal
Virtual Fancy Dress Competition
Additionally, we will be rewarding the best Festive themed Fancy Dress
Once you have submitted your 10k time simply send your photos to our Cracker Facebook page and see how many likes you get. The best liked is the winner in each category!
Best in each category will be announced asap after the event has finished and will win the opportunity to enter the Christmas Cracker race 2021 at half price!!!
The Fancy Dress Categories are:
- Male
- Female
- Mixed Group (up to 6)
- Female group (up to 6)
- Male group (up to 6)
- Best pose
- Family
- Best location
- Best animal.

Virtual Junior Mini Cracker
Weston Athletic Club Christmas Cracker Junior Scavenger Hunt.
Just to let you know we haven’t forgotten the Juniors and their families with regards to the Christmas Cracker. We are putting together an exciting Christmas Themed Scavenger Hunt to be held on 12th and 13th December. Take your family out on an adventure, walking or running, to find and then photograph yourself, team or family with the “found” items. You will be emailed the list of items to be hunted for on the first day of the event and you have all weekend to complete. The more imaginative the better!! So get your fancy dress out to spruce up your photos. (Photos will not be shared without permission). Every child under the age of 16 that participates will receive a medal.
Like the main virtual adult event, the Junior Scavenger Hunt is also supporting Weston Hospicecare and all proceeds from the event will go to this worthwhile local charity.
