Congratulations to the WAC participants of the Clevedon Boxing Day Race on Wednesday 26th December. The results have now been amended with other Weston AC participants which weren't immediately obvious from the results. A special well done to Claudine Mercer in securing 3rd FV40 on her return to competitive racing and Malcolm Gammon in securing 4th in the MV50 category.

Advance entry to the Hangover 10km on 1st January 2013 is now closed but you can still enter on the day. Please register early to avoid the queues. It would help if you could come prepared with a completed entry form (link below) with cash or cheque (payable to Weston AC) for £7 for affiliated runners and £9 for non-affiliated runners.

If you didn't get in the Cracker or are just a glutton for punishment this is the race for you.

Congratulations to Neil Ayliffe (3h 37m 22s - 156th), Marc Bostock (3h 40m 43s - 182nd) and Gareth Weaver (4h 27m 33s - 584th) who completed the Portsmouth Coastal Waterside Marathon on Saturday 22nd December. A link to the full results is below. There were 900 finishers.

The meet this week (29th) is Marine Lake at 8:00am. The session will be an LT run. Learn how to control your pace and improve your economy despite the rain and wind! All welcome as usual. See you there.

The Web Team would like to wish all members of Weston AC, friends and family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Although you may not have realised it, the Web Team has had some changes over the year and now consists of Bryan Morley, Gareth Weaver and Sara Weaver.

The Web Team are due to meet shortly (over a beer or two!) to discuss any changes or improvements we can make to the Weston AC website. But they don't have the monopoly on good ideas so they would like to reach out to you all for inspiration and suggestions. They want to know what you like about the website, what you don't like and what you would like to see. So, don't be shy! Please use the email link below to send the team your thoughts which will be collated and an action plan drawn up.

As a final note, can we ask all Weston AC runners to check over their results in the 2012 Club Championship races as the Club Awards night is not too far away. Of particular note please check the marathon times that are listed as these are the most difficult to track. If a result is missing (the Dec Prom results are still being finalised so don't email about this race) or incorrect from a Club Championship race then please use the email link below to inform the Web Team. Please include your name, race name, estimated time and a copy of the results (or link to the results website) so we can make the necessary changes.

The session this week (15th) will be Tough Ten hill reps. The meeting points will be the entrance to the woods on Worlebury at 8am or the Water Tower at 8.05am. As always off-road shoes are optional. All welcome as ever.

The final Tuesday night session of the year (18th December) turns festive and social.

This year we will be going for a run so come prepared with Christmassy garb and ready for a 5'ish mile run. We will also be making the draw for the Club London Marathon places.

A reminder to WAC members that the Wrington Waddle (not Wobble as previously advertised) Night Run is due to take place this Thursday. Meet at 6.45pm for 7.00pm at Urchinwood Manor. Details can be found by clicking the link below. Usual rules apply, full body covering and bring a bright torch (something a bit more powerful than the torch your grandma gave you for an Xmas present when you were six).

Just a reminder that the Cracker race starts at 11am on Sunday 9th December. Can we remind all runners to allow plenty of time to pick up your race chip from Weston College and to get to the race start. Please can you familiarise yourselves with the race literature which was included in the race pack. If you have misplaced the race literature you can download a copy using the link below.

We wish all competitors an enjoyable race. Don't forget, fancy dress is encouraged and everyone must wear at least one piece of tinsel.

Please see below a link to the latest Cracker Volunteer Task List. If anybody has any questions at all please feel free to give me a ring/text/email (07540 823017). Alternatively I will be at every training session next week if anybody wants a chat.

If there is anybody who hasn't yet volunteered, then please dont be shy, you can see how many people have volunteered already and you can also see some vacant slots that still need filling....plese just give me a shout.

Can I say a massive thank you to everyone who has volunteered. There has been a massive response and I haven't had to nag at all, it has been an absolute pleasure, especially chatting through Cracker day with some of our newer members.
