Just a reminder that the final race in the 2011-12 Prom Run series will take place on Thursday 17th May. Online entry is now closed but you can still enter on the day at race HQ. If you do intend to enter on the night it would help greatly if you could complete a paper entry in advance and bring the correct fee with you. Entry forms can be downloaded via the link on the Prom page (see link below).

Belfast Marathon

Congratulations to the Gareth Weaver who ran the Belfast Marathon on Monday 7th May. This marathon was just a warm up as Gareth is attempting a 51 mile ultra along the Taff Trail on 20th May. He is raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association as an incentive to get him to the finish. A link to the charity giving site is below.

Message from the Master Baker

It's the time of the year where we jog around our beautiful local area for a few miles, followed by an epic cake, chips & ale session. But this doesn't happen without a lot of effort from the cake bakers; spending a fortune in Morrison's baking aisle, taking days off work, & sweating it out in the kitchen mid-summer - it's a tough gig, I know. I'd be very grateful if you'd look over the dates, & see if you fancy knocking a few buns out. As always, there's the Weston AC Cake Baking Award up for grabs, which would be a fantastic addition to the 'Hobbies & Interests' section of any CV. And this year's new category - Weston AC Victoria Sponge Champion (judged by Kev Hudson). Entries can be made as part of a cake 'spread', or as an individual entry, perfect if you don't want to commit to a full on cake-a-thon. Please get the word around the club, & let's make this our best year ever!

May 5K Club Handicap

On Tuesday 8th May the club 5K handicap run will begin at the underpass adjacent to Morrisons. Meet at HMLC as normal for a steady 2 miles warm-up jog to the start or alternatively park at the store. The handicap will begin at 7.30pm.
