The results of the 2013 London Marathon Ballot will soon be announced. Weston Athletic Club will once again be securing our allocation of club places based upon the number of members who have taken out UKA individual registration. We will be drawing the lucky winners of these places out of the hat at our festive training night in December in the normal way.

The criteria for your entry into the draw is as follows:

1. You have been a member of Weston AC for over 1 year (therefore you have paid at least one club membership renewal).
2. You have entered the 2013 London Marathon ballot and have been unsuccessful.
3. You are registered with UKA individually (you have paid the additional £5 on your membership fee).

If you wish to be entered into the draw and meet all of the above criteria please email Malcolm Gammon, using the link below, attaching a copy of your London Marathon rejection email (if they send one) or give him a copy of the cover of your rejection magazine. Good luck!

The Mendip Muddle is a few short weeks away and this is a call for volunteers to come forward and help with the staging of the race on Sunday October 14th. Congratulations to Bryan Morley for completing the Atlantic Coast Challenge (over 78 miles along the South West Coastal Path finishing in Lands End) from Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd September.

Tonight sees the start of the 2012-13 Prom Run Series. Online entry has closed for tonight's race however you can still enter in person at race HQ. If you plan to enter on the night it would be really helpful if you could complete an entry form in advance and have the right cash/cheque ready. A paper based entry form can be downloaded from the Prom Run web page (link below). Please ensure you leave plenty of time to register as the first race in the series is always very busy. Race start is at 7.30pm.

Congratulations to Kevin Howells and his team who competed in the 'Race the Sun' challenge on Saturday 1st September in the Lake District.

The challenge is to cycle 50 miles (80kms), hike to the summit of England's second highest mountain - Helvellyn at 3,116ft (950m) - and canoe a 2.5 mile (4kms) course on Lake Thirlmere.

Kevin's team came an impressive 20th out of 92 teams.

Currently seeking one/two people to assist Mark with the input of entrants/race results on the night,no computer experience required, just a case of reading information out.

One person required from 6.30pm finish when entrants all input.

One person required from 8.00pm finish when race results input.

One person could of course do both!!
