There were 257 finishers for this race.
It was fine weather and a strong race at the front with Weston AC's own Chris Old improving on last months finish, but just losing out to Bristol & West's runner Ben Robinson some 15 seconds ahead at the finish.
The first Female runner home Serane Stone of Tiverton Harriers finished in just under 30 minutes.

Just a reminder that the second races in the 2013-14 One and Five Mile Prom Race Series take place on Thursday 24th October. Race HQ is the Pavilion Bar (2 Upper Church Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 2DT - near Knightstone Island). Please allow plenty of time before the race starts at 6.45pm (One Mile) and 7.30pm (Five Miles).

I am announcing to all my club colleagues that I will be standing down as the Head Coach for WAC with immediate effect and handing over the reigns to Jamie.
The senior coaching team and I have been working behind the scenes for some time to enable this transition to take place. I believe the time is right for this change.
I am not going to disappear though! I will remain a senior coach and be part of the coaching team but relinquish such duties as organising coaching rotas, planning training schedules, undertaking team selection and assisting in the Championship race planning.
I will still undertake the occasional Tuesday night interval session, organise the Thursday evening runs and group leaders, the 5k handicap with Jim and remain a committee member.
