A message for all those runners coming to this month's Prom races on Thursday 28th November. We have had to make a change to the normal 5 mile race route as it coincides with the Weston Town Centre Christmas Light switch on and Firework Display, during which time a short section of the promenade will be closed.

Race HQ, the Junior 1 Mile Race at 6.45 pm and the time and start position of the main 5 mile race at 7.30pm will be unchanged. The finish line for the main 5 mile race however will be moved along the promenade to the Grand Pier and the course altered to facilitate this and to remain at 5 miles.

Full details will be given to you at race HQ and the start line so please come along for the normal start but allow enough time to park as the town will be busier than normal. You will also be able to enjoy the firework display and may want to take advantage of the late night Christmas shopping!!

Join the Mendip Massive for a night run on Thursday 21st November. All WAC runners welcome for 6ish country miles of undulated English countryside.

Starting at the Swan at Rowberrow, arrive 6.45pm for a prompt 7pm start.

Please can all runners wear full body covering and head torch. Off road shoes are advisable.

The results of the 2014 London Marathon Ballot will soon be announced. Weston Athletic Club will once again be securing our allocation of club places based upon the number of members who have taken out UKA individual registration. We will be drawing the lucky winners of these places out of the hat at our festive training night on 17th December in the normal way.

The criteria for your entry into the draw is as follows:

1. You have been a member of Weston AC for over 1 year (therefore you have paid at least one club membership renewal).
2. You have entered the 2014 London Marathon ballot and have been unsuccessful.
3. You are registered with UKA individually (you have paid the additional £10 on your membership fee).

If you wish to be entered into the draw and meet all of the above criteria please email Jim Wotton, using the link below, attaching a copy of your London Marathon rejection email (if they send one) or give him a copy of the cover of your rejection magazine. Good luck!
