Just when you thought it was safe to go out running another event comes along.
Please can we call upon your generosity once again and ask for confirmation of who is willing to help organize and marshal the race on the 1/1/15. I need a number of people to help with jobs around the start/finish and in the village hall, Annette is also looking for 3 or 4 helpers in the kitchen. In addition we need about 20 people to help marshal the course.

As most of you will already know all proceeds from the race go to our charity (Barton Camp). In order to try and increase the donation from the cafe Annette is once again asking for volunteer bakers who may be able to provide Approx. a dozen delicious cakes between you to be sold on the day.

We have also received a letter from Weston Hospicecare confirming receipt of the donation from the Club totalling over £6,000. This sum excludes the money raised through sponsorship by individual runners.

Dear all

This is the last pre-race update for everyone who's volunteering tomorrow.

If you are down to marshal, it will really help me and Kim if you already know your marshal position number when you turn up. You can find this on the final page of the Volunteers List.

And if you haven't yet, please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the guidance for marshals document.

If you're planning on driving down to the race in the morning, please try and park somewhere other than the main car parks. We'd like to keep as many of these spaces for the runners as we can. So, if you're arriving onto the prom, try and park in one of the side roads off the seafront. If your duties are at the college, you should find a space on the hillside.

Finally, the weather forecast for Weston tomorrow is 8 degrees with a 19 mph westerly wind, with light rain until 10am and sunshine for the rest of the day, so please wear clothes that will keep you warm and dry.

[guidance for marshals] [Volunteers List]

For those of you who have volunteered to help out on Sunday, please read this latest update as there have been some changes.

Firstly, we have had to switch a few people into different roles because of others dropping out, so please check the spreadsheet as your role(s) and arrival times might have changed.

Secondly, if your main duty is as a marshal, we now need you to report for duty at or by 9.30am, and not 10am as previously shown on the spreadsheet. This is because there's a bit more involved for marshals this year, and your briefing will take a little longer. If you're marshalling and haven't yet read the guidance note then please take a few minutes to go through it.

Thirdly, if you have duties at the college, please report to Ian Shillcock on arrival so we know you're at the building.

And, finally, please check back on the homepage on Saturday evening in case of any last minute amendments.
