Ski Night at Sandford

30/10/2015 21:07:43

Take to the hills in a different way! On Wednesday 25 November at 7:00pm we are organising a ski night at the Sandford ski slope; for anyone from complete novices upwards in groups of 8, with an instructor. The cost would be £5 each for a one and a half hours lesson with the club subsidising the rest. If you would prefer you can also do snow boarding.

If you are interested please contact Paul via the link below; first come first, though competent skiers can also come by themselves. Neil will also take a night run from the same place on the night, and if there is sufficient interest there will be food afterwards.

If you are interested email Paul Snelling | Mendip Snowsport Website

Worlebury Challenge

23/10/2015 22:51:44

All club members are invited to take part in the Worlebury Challenge this weekend (Sunday 25 October at 9:30am). This race forms part of the club offroad championship and will take the place of the Grand Prix cross country event. The course is all off road with many ups and downs covering about 5.5 miles.

Registration 9:00am to 9:20am; no need to pre enter just turn up.

The route is designed so it passes the same point a few times, so more interesting for any family/friends you get to come along.

The race will start in the centre of the woods on the top of Worlebury hill by the water tower and radio masts. The best place to park is where Worlebury Hill Rd enters the woods or alongside the woods on Worlebury hill Rd. You can also park along the track that leads to the water tower, although please be considerate of local residents and other users of the woods. The water tower is about 400 metres along the main track.

There will be 4 individual categories - trophy and prize
senior male/female
V45 male/female
Plus a Team Trophy

Prize giving will take place immediately after the final runner has finished.

We are also hoping to arrange for some drinks and food after the race.

There are no toilets some please come ready to run.

I am also in need of a couple of marshalls so if you are available your help would be much appreciated. Please contact me if you are able to help out. Rob Skeen
