An email has been sent to the address supplied during the Mini Cracker online entry process providing race day arrangement details. If you haven't received this email please CLICK HERE for a copy of the Mini Cracker race literature.

For parents taking part in the Cracker 10km race, we have plenty of Creche spaces available (for children aged 1 - 12 years inclusive). Please ensure creche booking forms reach the race secretary by Friday 4th December at the very latest. Full details can be found on the Cracker webpage, link below.

Around 2,400 people dressed in festive fancy dress are due to hit the beach in Weston-super-Mare this Sunday 6 December, 2015 for the annual Christmas Cracker event, organised by Weston Athletic Club.

The 28th annual Christmas Cracker 10k has some 2,250 adult entrants to the race and a further 140 runners entering the mini cracker 2k event, new this year for children aged seven to 15 years old.

Thursday 19 November saw the third of the current series of Weston Athletic Club's five mile Prom Run races on Weston seafront. Conditions were good as the storms of the previous days had passed. It was a close run thing for the first three males home, on this a typical November evening. Overall, Clevedon AC teams performed well on the night, if not as well organised with Race Numbers!!

The details of the 2015 London Marathon club allocation have recently been confirmed. Weston Athletic Club will once again be securing our allocation of club places based upon the number of members who have taken out UKA individual registration. (This year revised rules means that it is reduced to 2) We will be drawing the lucky winners of these 2 places out of the hat at our festive training night on Tuesday 22nd December this year in the normal way. The first place will be drawn just from those runners who have not run London before. The remaining place between everyone including those not successful in the first place draw.

The criteria for your entry into the draw is as follows:

1. You have been a member of Weston AC for over 1 year (therefore you have paid at least one club membership renewal).

2. You have entered the 2016 London Marathon ballot and have been unsuccessful.

3. You are registered with EA individually (i.e. you have paid the additional £2 on your membership fee).


If you wish to be entered into the draw and meet all of the above criteria please email Jim Wotton, using the link below, attaching a copy of your London Marathon rejection email (if they send one) or give me a copy of the cover of your rejection magazine. Good luck!

Race Packs for the Cracker 10km race will be posted shortly after 11th November. If you have not received your race pack by Friday November 27th then please EMAIL the race secretary immediately providing your name, postal address and contact telephone number.

The Cracker 10km event reached race capacity some weeks ago but we want as many people to take part in the race so we are allowing participant substitutions. Please use the Cracker Facebook and Twitter pages (links are on the right hand side of the Cracker webpage) to advertise that you have a space available or you are looking for a place. Weston AC will not be operating a waiting list due to the significant administration required.

It is the responsibility of the original Cracker 10km event entrant to ensure that ALL the required runner details are entered correctly into the online entry system. This includes changes to the runner’s email/postal address, contact telephone numbers, running club name and emergency contact details subsequent to the date that the original online entry was made.
