Online and postal entry to the 2016 Hangover 10km is now closed but you can still enter on the day. What better way to start the year as you mean to go on than with a run by the seaside? Held around the village of Kewstoke (near Weston-super-Mare), the Hangover 10km helps you to get over the effects of the night before.
Please ensure you aim to arrive before 10.30am as car parking is limited and car share if possible. If you are entering on the day it would help greatly if you could print out and complete, prior to your arrival, the paper entry form (link below) and bring cash or cheque (payable to Weston AC) for £8 (affiliated) or £10 (unattached).

There was no time for second helpings of turkey for the 39 Weston Athletic Club members who made the annual pilgrimage to Clevedon for the Boxing Day road race, and a final tussle for hotly-contested club championship points. Conditions were certainly drier and warmer this year, but the fiercely strong winds put paid to most runners’ ambitions of a personal best on the four mile route...read more

Unseasonably mild conditions greeted the 301 runners who took on December’s Weston Athletic Club prom run in what can definitely be described as vest weather. Normally at this stage in the nine-race series, runners do battle with strong winds and often sideways rain, but this race provided excellent conditions, with only the customary seafront breeze to contend with. Kieron Summers was the club’s first member to complete the five mile course in 27.57 and third overall. Second spot went to Wilf Huxtable, sealing himself a new personal best in the process with 29.09, and Nick Briffitt followed close behind in 29.16...read more

Thanks to everyone who is volunteering to help make the Christmas Cracker race a success this year, you should all get a message tonight with the details you need so you know what you'll be doing on Sunday, where you need to be, and what time you need to be there. Here is the final list of everyone with their roles, meeting places and start times just in case you don't get the message and here is a copy of the guide for marshals and marshal points. Could you all check the list and make sure you understand your role on the day.
If you have any questions please contact either Jim Wotton or Vanessa Andrews.

All Cracker Volunteers can experience all the fun of the Cracker route the day before the big day - 5 December. Paul Snelling will be leading the 10k run around the 2015 Cracker route; starting at the Pier at 9:00am. Fancy dress is not obligatory but why wouldn't you when coming dressed as an elf, reindeer, fairy etc will entitle you to a free breakfast at Raddy's after the run. If that isn't incentive enough then Paul says there will be "incredible" prizes to be won!

The final race of the Weston Athletic Club off-road championship wast last Sunday’s Brent Knoll Race. Starting at the Burnham Association of Sports Clubs ground in Burnham-onSea the race follows muddy footpaths and fields to Brent Knoll where runners climb to the peak before heading back down steep slippery descents and retracing their steps to the finish. The weather was challenging with gale-force winds, and following the heavy rains the previous day, the ground was particularly soft and sticky...read more
