Volunteer(s) Needed

26/01/2016 00:15:11

It is with regret that I must inform you that after more years than I care to remember, I will be stepping down from my race/membership online entry administration duties and deputy website administration role from 31st March 2016. In addition, I am stepping down from my membership of the Cracker Committee and Cracker Race Secretary roles at this week’s Cracker meeting.

I have already informed the main Club and Cracker Committees of my decision. Following a change in personal circumstances, I find myself desperately short of free time and therefore can no longer dedicate the amount of time required in order to perform the following activities:

- Creation of online entry systems for the WAC hosted races
- Creation of online club membership system
- Deputy Webmaster
- Cracker Committee member
- Cracker Race Secretary
- Adding club races to Runner’s World magazine and online event listings

I take pride in the contribution I have made to the club organisation and administration over the years but I believe now is the right time to hand over the baton to someone else in order to inject new ideas and enthusiasm into the role(s).

So, if you fancy giving some of your time back to the club and taking on some, all or any of the above duties please get in contact using the email link below. The continued operation of Weston AC relies heavily on club members doing their bit, so please don't leave it to others to put their hands up.

Full training, documentation and a handover will be provided so please get in touch soon to allow adequate time before I step down. This is your opportunity to make a difference and contribute your own ideas to making this wonderful club of ours even more successful! A reminder that I will need to cease all the above duties by 31st March 2016 at the latest so if nobody comes forward there will be no online race entry systems, no club membership system and no Cracker Race Secretary.

Thank you for your attention and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best wishes

Bryan Morley

The strong headwind that characterised last year’s Riverbank Rollick was replaced by mud, and plenty of it, at this year’s race on Sunday. Happy New Year

02/01/2016 13:47:30

Happy New Year club members. We just wanted to let you all know that we've had a lovely letter from Weston Hospicecare - our chosen race charity for last month's Christmas Cracker - thanking the club for the £5,000 we raised for them. They have praised us for an exciting and well-organised event, and said that our support is valued very much by all of the staff, volunteers and patients at the Hospice.

We're able to support the Hospice in this way, largely because of the many hours you all contribute as members to make the race happen, so thank you.
