Weston Athletic Club’s distinctive yellow vests dominated the seafront on Sunday morning when 60 of the club’s members lined up for the start of the Two Bays Tough Ten, a ten mile multi-terrain route featuring flat beach, and climbs to Sand Point and Weston Woods. Weather conditions ended up better than expected on the day, with overcast skies and an on-shore wind which at times helped, and at others, hindered. Paul Snelling and Jim Hayward are organising a daytrip on Saturday 25 June to Symonds Yat on the River Wye to go canoeing and kayaking. The trip will include transport, instructors, provision of boats and permits. At the moment Paul would just like to know who is interested, so if you fancy giving your upper body a bit of a work out for a change let Paul Know.

Team needed for Gwent League Cross Country race on Saturday 5 March
On Sat 5 March we have a race at Brecon which forms part of this year's club championship. The club has hired a coach which will leave Locking Road car park at 10am and arrive back in Weston at about 6.30pm. The race fee is £4 per runner.

If you want a place on the coach and in the race you MUST add your name to the runner list on our website: Gwent XC League - Brecon Leisure Centre

We are also looking for a team manager for the event who can manage the entry process on the day. If you're interested in this role, speak to Dave Jones or email him dmjaj93@gmail.com for more information.

The Social Event of the year is nearly upon us. Those lucky enough to be going can view the seating plan here and don't forget 7:00pm for 7:30pm at the Royal Hotel on Friday.

There were double celebrations for Stuart and Helen Diamond last week as both returned powerful performances to earn new personal bests at the Burnham-on-Sea 5k.

Conditions were largely favourable for the 14 Weston Athletic Club members who ran. First to finish for the club was Marc Whiting in 19.08, and ninth overall, also securing a personal best for the distance. Stuart followed in 19.53, and Tony Hogg took first club spot in 20.39 ...read more
