All membership renewals for 2016-17 must be submitted by Mon 30 May 16 at the latest to allow enough time for England Athletics affiliations to be processed. EA affiliations not paid up by this date will lapse, and you will not be able to run as a WAC athlete in EA races, get £2 discount, get club championship points or enter the club London Marathon draw.

Race Director Hangover 10k

Press Release - Hills, hills and more hills for Weston runners

Weston Athletic Club’s members have tackled three events with varying degrees of hills involved over the past few days as the spring racing season has got into full swing. The most popular race among members was the annual Tyntesfield 10k which winds itself around the fields and rocky tracks of the National Trust estate land, featuring some testing climbs along the way. A now familiar race finish order emerged for the club’s first three men, Chris McMillan completed the course in 37.42, second overall and just eight seconds behind the winner. Beacon Batch - Race Director required for 2017

After many years, Rob Skeen has announced that the 2016 Beacon Batch race will be his last as Race Director. This is a great opportunity for somebody to take on a relatively small race. If anyone is interested please get in touch with Rob asap so that person can shadow Rob for his last Beacon Batch on June 21st. Rob will also be available next year for advice and assistance if required.

Thursday Social Run

This Thursday (19 May) will be the second social run of the year. There will be no led Groups running from Hutton Moor that night. We will all meet at 6:55 for 7:00pm please in the car parks by The Commodore in Sand Bay. There will be a minimum of 4 groups running

Congratulations to all the participants in the last of this season's 1 Mile Prom Run of the Series 2015-2016 on Thursday 12 May.

Well done to William FULLER for another fine win, and an excellent result for Connie BALLENTINE coming in 1st female and 3rd overall.

Press Release - Butcher blasts Brecons while Reading conquers Glastonbury

Sunday was the day for Weston Athletic Club’s women to shine, as they took on two running challenges which could not have been more different. Sara Butcher put her five months of training to the test as she faced the 42 miles of the Brecon to Cardiff ultra marathon. Having already run both the Paris and Manchester marathons in the weeks leading up to the event, her legs were ready to take on the extra 16 miles that lay ahead. The route followed the River Taff, through the Beacons and back down to sea level at Cardiff. Never having tackled an event of this distance before, Sara returned an impressive result, finishing sixth female overall in a time of 8.24.05. ...read more

Please note that for the summer months the monthly 5k H/cap has move to the Morrisons' course. Meet 7.00pm for warm up, start time is 7.15pm. Running alongside the 5k H/cap is a reps session at Hutton Moor back field for those not wishing to do the handicap. Meet 7.00pm.
