🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼IMPORTANT CRACKER VOLUNTEERS UPDATE🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼

25/10/2017 08:58:36

Thank you to everyone who’s volunteered to help with this year’s race pack STUFFING PARTY on Wednesday 8 November at 6.30pm.

If you’ve been selected to help at the stuffing party then you’ll have had an email from Kim and Annette this evening.

If you volunteered and haven’t had an email then you’re not needed at the stuffing party this year, but thank you for volunteering. We were over subscribed with numbers this year and the venue is limited to 30.

If you’ve volunteered to help with the letter drop, emails will be sent mid November - at least 40 volunteers are needed this year.

If you haven’t volunteered for anything Cracker-related yet, please complete the survey by the end of the month.

CLUB MEMBERS - WAC needs you!

20/10/2017 01:48:47

There’s only a few weeks until the clubs biggest race of the year - The Christmas Cracker - and the club needs your help to make it the best one yet!! 😊

We rely massively on the support of all our club members to fulfil each of the many duties that are needed to make the event run smoothly, and to ensure that he 2,000+ runners 🏃 have a great race.

Complete the Volunteer Survey now

This years race is on Sunday 17 December at 11am. Along with the 2k junior race at 10am we need over 250 members to help make the event happen!

As well as the help on the day we also need a smaller number of members to help do letter drops to households on the route, giving them advance notice of the event. So for anyone who cannot be there on race day, don’t worry, there will be a job for you to do!!

As a thank you to race volunteers, the club puts on the ‘Not Cracker 10k’ on the Saturday morning the day before the race. This is where members who volunteer, run the race in fancy dress, followed by a cooked breakfast (courtesy of the club) and fancy dress prize giving.

All you need to do now is let us know how you can help by using the Volunteer Survey now.

Please complete your details as soon as possible and ideally no later than the end of October so we can begin allocating people to duties.

We will do our best to accommodate special requests, but is not guaranteed.

Any queries then please get in touch

Sunday - Worlebury Woods

12/10/2017 08:57:13

This Sunday is our WAC cross country race in Worlebury Woods. It's a free race open to current club members only. Meet at 9am by the water tower (parking by woods entrance or on the road) for registration and the race will start at 9.30am.

If you're able to help out with marshalling on the day, Rob Skeen could do with a couple of helpers.

***Your club needs you***

12/10/2017 08:55:12

Listen up #TeamYellow for news of two great opportunities to get more involved in the running of our brilliant club.

Opportunity number 1
Could you be the next flag head honcho? Keeper of the flags? Care for our race flags lovingly and bring them along to our races throughout the year and display them with pride? If this sounds like it might right up your alley please let Jim know.

Opportunity number 2
How's about being our social guru? After years of sterling service and many memorable events, Paul Snelling is going to stand down from the role of social secretary after 2018.
Could you or a group of you take on organising our calendar of social events?
Although Paul is carrying on for another year, we're hoping that his successor(s) can get involved soon and work with him/shadow organising the biggest event of the year our club presentation night in February.

Does this float your boat? Wet your whistle? Rock your socks? Then Jim or Paul are the chaps to chat to.

Sodbury Slog

11/10/2017 08:13:09

If you can't run and want someone to take your place make sure you do the transfer before then.

No championship points will be awarded for runners participating under another name.

Runners participating in someone else's name also put themselves and the person that they take the number from at risk of potential further action by EA/ARC.

Mendip Muddle

03/10/2017 08:38:12

The Mendip Muddle is fast approaching (8 October) and entries are selling out fast. The Mendip Muddle is a 20km multi-terrain race. The route is tough (there is 420m of climb), but very interesting, set in some of the finest scenery in the West Country. There are Roman lead mines, underground rivers, a nature reserve, open moorland, potholes, an ancient rabbit warren, an Iron Age fort, deciduous and conifer forest, and prehistoric tumuli. Full details and online entry can be found at Full-on-Sport.
