This year’s Beacon Batch fell race proved the most popular yet, with 137 runners lining up to take on the five country miles route climbing 1,000 feet to the highest point on the Mendips. Congratulations to all the participants of the Beacon Batch Fell Race 2018 this Tuesday 19th June 2018.

Weather was mild but cloudy and gave us more course records!
Another good result for WAC's Chris MCMILLAN in 1st place and with first lady Emily COX of Southville Running Club in a new ladies course record.
Male:
1st - Chris MCMILLAN - Weston AC - 34m 54s
2nd - Luke HANSON - Nailsea Runners - 37m 02s
3rd - Alexander COOMBS - Wells City Harriers - 38m 27s
Female:
1st - Emily COX - Southville Running Club - 41m 38s
2nd - Laura MEECH - Clevedon AC - 42m 33s
3rd - Sophie VOLLER - Westbury Harriers - 43m 29s
First Male Team: Weston AC (Chris MCMILLAN, Pete CLARKE and William FULLER)
First Female Team: Southville Running Club (Emily COX, Olivia MAYNARD and Phil RICHARDS)
There were an impressive 137 finishers on the night and some U23 male and runners included.
The chairman of the Fell Runners Association was also running last night and he informed us the two things he was impressed with was the quality of the marshalling and the number of Weston club runners supporting the event.

No stranger to winning at the summer series of races organised by Town and Country Harriers, Chris McMillan joined 20 fellow runners from Weston Athletic Club on Thursday evening to take on the first ever Rowberrow Romp. The six mile route followed almost entirely off-road tracks from Rowberrow to the trig point at the top of Beacon Batch and back again, with 1,000 feet of climb along the way... Read more
