Remember to bring your pound to enter the charity mile and see how speedy you are or enjoy a Christmas group run for those who don’t fancy it.
Afterwards we will meet at The Pavilion Bar for a drink on us and to see who wins the coveted London Marathon places.

A big thank you to everyone who came and helped with the Christmas Cracker races on Sunday. The teams of marshals both inside race HQ and outside on the course did an amazing job in challenging conditions. For those out on the course it was a very cold job and must have been really difficult. There have been many positive comments about the race but in particular how supportive and encouraging the marshals were helping the runners to get round in such windy and cold conditions. As always the event depends on you all, the volunteers giving up your time for the enjoyment of others as well as to generate important funds for Weston Hospicecare and local charities.
No matter how small or large the role you played it was very important in making it a successful, safe and enjoyable race for the 2000+ runners.
Thank you very much for your support and efforts.

Weston runners do the Fully Monty
Two races have occupied Weston Athletic Club’s members over the past few days as they have endeavoured to earn valuable championship points in the closing weeks of the contest.
The Full Monty Cute was the final race in the off-road championship and saw 19 members travel to Ham Hill to take off the hilly, muddy, ten mile course. Chris McMillan took overall race victory in his blistering time of 1.06.33, setting a new course record in the process. Chris Selman was also rewarded with a top ten finish, with his time of 1.15.43, while Matt Wheeler finished second in his category in 1.20.53.
Michelle Fryer was the club’s fastest female, finishing in 1.34.52. Michelle was followed by Katie Gormley in 1.37.20 and Rachael Vincent in 1.44.46, with Rachael also claiming a category prize...Read more

Weston’s Christmas Cracker goes down a storm
Sunday’s Storm Atiyah was no match for the 2,000 runners taking part in Weston Athletic Club’s annual Christmas Cracker races on Weston-super-Mare beach.
Reindeer, snowmen, Christmas trees, penguins, elves, Santas and even a lobster lined up in their droves to take on the Christmas Cracker 10k and junior Mini Cracker 2k races on Sunday morning. Winds gusting at over 50 miles an hour threatened havoc with the fancy dress, but undeterred, the runners persevered.
The first three runners to finish the 10k race all put in spectacular performances, and first to cross the line was David Eagon of Bristol and West AC in 36.28. Last year’s winner Tom Lander of BAD Tri was runner-up in 37.06 while Jonny Reep of Wellingborough and District AC took third place in 37.14...Read more

Hi all WAC Christmas Cracker Volunteers – please find published the FINAL copy of volunteer allocations. The document includes details relating to jobs you have been allocated to do (there may be more than one), start times for each job, reporting venue for each job and a contact person for each job. Please take careful note of ALL the details so you go to the right places on the day, on time and report to the correct person.
If for any reason your name is not on the list when you think it should be then please email the following address: kandarunning@gmail.com ASAP with the relevant detail.
Please remember this running event is taking place in December and weather conditions can be unpredictable. For those of you who are not allocated to work inside the college, then remember you will be outside for some considerable time – it gets cold standing marshaling a 2 hour event. PLEASE dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day.
If any of you are bringing young family members with you then please also ensure they are too appropriately dressed for the conditions and the event taking place.
Many thanks, Annette and Kim, Cracker race volunteer coordinators
