Weston Athletic Club celebrates a year of achievements
Last weekend, 150 of Weston Athletic Club’s members gathered at the Winter Gardens for a night of celebration, marking the many and varied achievements of club members throughout the year. A three course meal was followed by an opening address from the club’s chairman Ian Carpenter who then invited guest of honour Tony Roper to speak, recognising the club’s 40th anniversary in 2018. Tony was one of the club’s original members and regaled the guests with his tales of running during the club’s formative years.
Ian then handed over to Jim Wotton who presided over the awards ceremony. Jim gave a round-up of the club’s year of running before moving onto the awards themselves. It was a notable evening for many members thanks to their efforts throughout the year, with the most awards going to Matt Wheeler, Nia Davies and Kieron Summers... Read more

A cool calm Valentine’s Day evening set the scene for the February five mile prom run organised by Weston Athletic Club. An impressive 279 runners ditched the hearts and flowers to test their mettle over the fast, flat route.
First back for the club, and second overall was Chris McMillan, no stranger to a podium position at the prom. Chris finished just three seconds behind overall winner Luke Murray in 26.31. Next for the club was Kieron Summers in 27.35, followed by Will Fuller 10 seconds later in 27.45.
Immy Moroney enjoyed another great race finishing second female overall in 30.07, knocking almost 30 seconds off her previous best, edging tantalisingly close to the coveted sub-30 club. Susan Duncan took second club spot for the women in 31.38, followed by Michelle Fryer in 34.22... Read more

Congratulations to all the Participants in the sixth Prom Race in 2019 for the series 2018-19 on 14th February 2019.

Well Done to all the participants of this sixth 1 Mile Prom Run of the Series 2018-19 on Thursday 14th Feb 2019.

Weston Athletic Club’s members have enjoyed a busy few days running with three very different races to tackle.
latest race in the Burnham Pool 5k series took place on Thursday evening providing a perfect opportunity for club members to test their pace over a shorter distance. First club member home was Richard Taylor in 18.15, closely followed by Matt Wheeler in 18.19. Richard Brent took third club spot, and first in his age category in 20.04.
First club female to complete the fast flat course was Michelle Fryer in 20.51. Jo Coveney followed in 21.47 and Vicki Wilkins earned herself a new personal best for the distance of 23.56... Read more

Please be informed that we have now finalised the One Mile Prom results for January as shown on the Prom Page, as best as we can given the information we have.
Thank you to all those that offered their finishing times.
Can you all please look to see if there are any other results missing or incorrect, and inform via the email address below, with your name, race no, and estimated finish time, so we can investigate further. Apologies to those that were not officially recorded.

Important message for existing and new Hutton Moor Leisure Centre members

I am pleased to confirm that Hutton Moor will now be offering Weston Athletic Club members discounted membership.
The price for a Weston AC membership will be: 18-59 year old - £33.15 per month by direct debit or £358.02 by single payment for annual membership.
The price for a Weston AC membership will be: 60+ - £27.70 per month by direct debit or £293.76 by single payment for annual membership.
With the direct debit membership type once your first direct debit has been paid you can leave HM by giving just 2 months notice.
This reduced monthly/annual rate will apply both to any new and all existing members. As HM will not currently know that you are members of Weston Athletic Club all that you need to do prior to your next DD being taken from your account is to visit the membership desk with proof that you are a member of Weston AC. This proof could be your membership card or copy of your most recent renewal letter (on your phone). I believe that HM will need to get you to complete a new DD (contract) for the revised amount.
