Thank you to Rob and your team of helpers for putting on a cracking event this morning. The rope was especially welcome. Not sure about the pixie on the toadstool at the top though.
I'll echo John's comments, there was a lot of support for Team Yellow today, thank you
Re Bristol to Bath marathon thanks to all club members and family's who took time out to support us on a marathon that was not that easy

Many thanks to all who helped and turned out to run this morning. Glad to hear everybody enjoying the final slope.
Yes agree with all comments below, not being a lover off this off road stuff I can honestly say I quite enjoyed it today, great route & support along the way by all the helpers even Mr Nobles 'Come on shift your a**e' inspired me to keep puffing up that stupid last hill!
Rob Skeen needs to be an after dinner speaker at our awards night, the bloke is hilarious.
Worlebury Challenge was brilliant this morning, great route around the woods with a beast of a climb near the end.
Thanks again Rob, one of the unsung heroes of our brilliant club

A friend of mine would like an entry to the Grand Pier Half Marathon next weekend but she has left it too late to enter; if any one has a place they aren't going to use could you mail me. Thanks, Matt.
Friday 23 October 2015
Hi all thanks for a great Prom race last night, but I seem to have been forgotten from the WAC results.
Well done to all the 319 runners last night who completed our new 5 mile prom race route.
Thanks as always to the army of members and friends who turned out to help.
Any feedback on how the new route went would be appreciated. We have already identified the issue with congestion around the finish area affecting runners still out on the course, so will be looking to remedy this next month.

Anyone else (apart from Mrs B) going from Weston to Bristol on Sun morning for the Bristol to Bath?
Buses and trains don't arrive until after 9.00am so need to scrounge a lift. Happy to split fuel costs.
Thanks

Hi All,
I have just had confirmation from our friends at the council that it will be fine for us to park for free on the seafront from 6:45pm on a Tuesday night.
Makes it easier than finding a parking space and crossing the road

Than you to all the WAC and RNLI marshals and helpers today at the clubs annual Mendip Muddle, My first time doing it and thoroughly enjoyed it thanks for a brilliant day and all your hard work,Especially The Viking. Quality Quality Quality
Friday 09 October 2015
Jim,
Of course we enjoyed the handicap, thank you for organising it yet again. Some of the discussions around adjusting times to 5km were extremely creative, this alone made it worth run a couple of extra yards.
Message for Paul Snelling, I know I have been off the radar a bit, but if there is space (and it still happening) could I join the merry dry skiers on 25 Nov
Hi Guy,
Thanks for your time, as you can see when I measured the revised course I did not want anybody to feel short-changed on the distance. I measured it about 1 metre from the wall so I think the big difference is how wide people went on the bends/turns and having to avoid each other. The shortest recorded was 3.13 but somebody told me they did 3.22 miles
Next month we will be back to the previous, well measured course (by Ian with his wheel not me), unless another seafront event comes along to surprise us.
I hope you all still enjoyed it though
Cheers
Jim

Will we be full by the morning? only 22 places to go
Tonights Handicap
We had over 65 start so it was a bit busy with the results.
Bill has dropped me a note with his time but I do not currently have times for Debbie Brookes, Guy, Adrian, Josh or Jim White.
If you could let me have a note of the time or who you were in front of/behind that would be appreciated
Cheers
Many thanks to all who helped out at tonight`s handicap. Most enjoyable.
Hi Wilf,
Could you please let me know what time you did tonight. I have 18mins wriiten down but I think I must be missing the secs.

A valuables bag is a great shout
For those of you who i cycled with today.....Yes i did leave my key in my front door for 4 hrs, open with laptop and lots of other things for the taking! Lucky for me the thief did not visit me today! Lovely ride by the way.

Tuesday night Training.
Hi James, Rob mentioned that there had been a bit of trouble when he came to HM after the session.
From next week onwards I will have my car on the seafront and anybody can leave clothes and valuables in it.
Not Lost property
A pair of black gloves with a yellow nike symbol were picked up by mistake last night and will be brought down next Tuesday if not before.
Tuesday 29 September 2015
Just too let everyone know not to leave any valuables unattended in any of the huts on a Tuesday night session (keys, jumpers etc) as a lot of us had a lucky escape tonight.
Just as well Wilf is quick because he caught a lady helping herself to everyone's belongings tonight and made her empty her loot bag!!!
Can I suggest a valuable bag maybe for the future for car keys etc???
Hi if any one is running Burnham 5K
And could give me a lift I would appreciate it
Also Oldbury
Thanks

Thursday 24 September 2015
Excellent organisation and marshalling as usual; many thanks to all involved. Looking forward to less turns for faster times, but i'm greedy like that. Terrific to see Chris win, it's been in the post for a while now.
I agree Vanessa, I liked the 3 lap route a lot. I also liked finishing under the bright lights of Dismaland, can we ask Banksy to leave it there a bit longer?
Massive thanks to all the marshals for being there :)

A great response from our call for help. We did not realise quite how busy it was going to get so a huge thank you to everyone who turned out to help. The feedback from the runners was very positive especially to all the marshals who helped guide them through the pedestrians and around the 5 turn course. Thanks and well done.
Thank you all you fabulous marshalls for your support tonight. Except Chris. Obviously.
Great race, really well organised, as always.
Was I the only one who much preferred the three lap course?
OK if you are not running tonight then please come and help Marshal. Your club needs you! With Dismaland, a revised route and a new race hq we need your help.
So come and enjoy the action and help encourage and guide the runners.

Sorry Jim, got a bit too inspired by Ben's epic quest!? Seems like a very nice young man; he'll go far.. Beggars belief how he's going to get through that EVERY DAY until October 2016; I recommended he copy your uber-economical running style! Good luck to him.
401 Challenge
Ben completed his 4th consequetive marathon earlier.
Thanks to Carol, Simon, Ray and Darren for helping him on the first half and for Jo, Tricia and Wendie (as well as Chairman Ian who rode shotgun for us) on the second Half.
Simon we lost contact with you when you went back up to run Canada Coombe for the fourth time. I hope that you did not have any mishaps and are OK.

Can I add my thanks to the Whites and all their helpers for putting on a most enjoyable run this morning.
Guy re your suggestion of a club only championship event as luck would have it you will get your wish on the 25th Oct 15. The organisers of the Bleadon Levels 10K have just contacted us to advise that they are unfortunately having to cancel for 2015.
As this is the cross country Grand Prix race I am sure that many of you have that date in your diary and rather than try to re-allocate and re-arrange we have decided that we will put on a club only race to substitute.
We will use the Worlebury Woods Challenge course that Rob Skeen devised last year and we will bring forward to a 9:30 start time.
More detail to follow but something to look forward to.
Cracking morning on The Mendips, a big thank you to all involved.
Like the suggestion of a charabanc trip to Gwent XC
Brilliant club event earlier at The Whites 2x2x2 on the Mendip hills. If you haven't done it yet your nuts. This should also be supported by making it an off roader in the Championship for next year, it would be brilliant having one or two big, club only races in the Championship, have a think about it Jim Wotton. Also, why doesn't the club choose an event, like a Gwent cross-country race, lay on a couple of coaches, pay for all club entrants, set up a club area at the event and hit it on mass.....I think as a club we're missing a trick to be a club!
Had a right laff this morning at the White's 2x2x2 run, thanks to all involved. Rachael & me chatted most of the way round about hair & make-up, it was brilliant!
Yes many thanks to The Whites/Weavers & Mr Coleman & Mr Snelling for standing out in the rain for us this morning, you had a tough job, despite the mud, rain, hills & giant puddles I actually enjoyed myself which doesn't happen very often to me 'off road'!
Really enjoyed the 2x2x2 this morning. The trainers are ruined,as am I but the breakfast made up for it.
Had a lonely and very wet run round the Dykes this morning, Missed the company of the usual gang, but the tea and toast was great when I got home.
Thank you to the Whites and there helpers
Very sociable morning nice to see lots of new faces

I know we have the Mendips on our doorstep …. But how about seeing some quintessentially English countryside just past that doorstep?
On Sunday 27th September it is the 5 Valleys Walk. You can walk or run the route (or take a bus if you don’t want to do the whole route) – but note it is NOT a race. There are no finishing medals or prizes. The route does take in some amazing scenery and money raised does go to a very worthy charity. See https://www.meningitisnow.org/support-us/featured-events/five-valleys-walk-2015/ for details. I think I have done this around 14 times – and I plan to do it again this year. If you want to know about this event please give me a shout

"The Real Mendip Challenge"
After discovering that there's s 50 mile Mendip Way Route, of course I decided that i would put together a team to run it.
It will be on Sunday 13th December.
So who's mad enough to join me??
Looking for people who will work together as a team to complete this awesome challenge.
This time I will promise ice cold beers on finish along with Mrs Woots famous chocolate brownies and homemade medals.
You can also expect at the half way point a delicious hot pasta dish from Mummy Woots.
No doubt "The Squirrel" Barry Hall we keep us hydrated by perfectly positioned water bottles on route.
The plan is to start in Frome at sunrise and to arrive in Uphill some time later!!!
What a great way to prepare for all the extra calories you put on over Christmas by loosing a shed load just before.
Also this is the unofficial WAC all day Christmas party!!!
Christmas hats at the ready and all you need to do now is to say YES.
Also we will be doing an early morning sun rise run to test out the Frome to Wells route section to see the sun rise over the Mendips. Date to be confirmed and the mileage is 20 miles.
If your interested in either then please contact me on 07861250448.
I've set up a Facebook event page too.
Love you all
Woots

(And thanks Jim)
Hi James,
Your question re West Mendip Way.
Via google I found a lot of route detail. One of the best sites for description of the route seemed to be on Wikepedia which also had lots of links to maps etc.
After you have gone from Uphill to Wells it goes to Shepton Mallett, then on via the highest point on the route to Frome. (This is where it now finishes)
I think Rich Colman and others did the route from Uphill to Shepton which was about 39. The full route to Frome is probably the 50 or so that you are planning to do next

***SPECIAL SOCIAL EVENT PLANNED FOR THIS MONTH***
Fancy a spot of Disc Golf at Mendip Outdoor Pursuits?
Our social guru Mr Snelling has organised a club night out to Churchill to have a go.
Teams of four, 10 hole course, and probably (like all good WAC socials) food afterwards.
We can have either Wed 19 or Thur 20 August.
Soooo....
Question 1 - are you interested?
Question 2 - which date of the two on offer would you prefer? (and say if you can make both)

Monday 27 July 2015
Well done to everyone who ran the Seaview 17 yesterday. And thanks for the support at the end, also thanks to my 2 Guardian Angels Julia & Ness for looking after the old Plodder all day. And well done to the Massive on their retro portrayal of the hard kids at school as they ousted other runners and took the back seat of the coach. Reports that the back of the aforementioned coach was later found defaced with graffito slogans such as 'Weston AC rule OK', '1 2 3 4 5 if you wanna stay alive don't mess with the Massive' and 'Wot no Guy Bradford' are as yet unconfirmed.
Sunday 26 July 2015

Thanks to Jamie and Sara for organising the WAC contingent of the Mob match. Great evening.
I have just had confirmation that the full results will be available in the next few days. So bear with.. I will remove the current results and reinput in full at a later date. :)
I have input the Tow Path Mob Match results/championship points from the placings, as I think this may be the only information available. (And it was all about the placings!) if it transpires that times are published, I will update them. Alternatively, if you would like me to add your time, I can do that if you let me have it! :)
Friday 17 July 2015
BIG BIG thumbs up Mrs A, And good going to all the participants of tonights Mob match well done WAC
Rest assured Mr C that Mr Woots will receive a glowing report in this week's round-up of WAC shenanigans. There were no championship races last week and so no report, but it's all there ready to go, once we have the lowdown from tonight's mob match mobsters.
Disappointed! Sit down for 10 o, clock brew with the lads and my copy of the Mercury ready to brag how I knew this nutter (Woots) running his epic 100k race to the stones for a sensational cause TEAM LYDIA and what do I find on this none race weekend report ? Nothing surely a well deserved slap on the back and 4 words? "Thank you JamesWooton" for your hard work and endless contribution to other people. You are truly an amazing selfless man Mr Wooton well done and if any one hasn't already chipped in check out (challenge15Lydia)
John. So far I think it's you, me, Julia W and Pete B doing SV17. I think Jim's also considering it. We can all go down together, but you'll have to wait a long time for us to get back to Minehead, so will understand if you get a better offer ;0)
CLUB KIT, I now have most of your orders, just missing 2/3 large jackets. Can you please collect either from training Tuesday or from our home, 93, Spring Hill, Tel; 414361 or email in case we are not in, so I can leave your order in the porch. Also some members still need to pay before collecting. !!!
DAVES.
I have a free place going for the half marathon distance next Sun 26 Jul at Bath Running Festival (Relish Running). If anyone would like it let me know & I will tell you what to do.
John)I'm doing Standish & can give you a lift
Away shortly but can make arrangements on return
